"Where are you," I whispered fiercely into my phone, "I need help."
"Grace I can't help you if you don't calm down and tell me where you are," JD answered back in a worried tone.
"Okay, okay, okay," I sighed trying to stay calm. "I think I'm in the back of a truck. I can here some voices, but I'm afraid to move." I paused giving him a chance to think over what I had just said.
"Do you remember how you got there?" He questioned.
"Not really," I sighed rolling my eyes at the question. "I remember walking on the side of the road.... I was actually on my way to your house," I stated slightly embarrassed.
JD and I have been best friends since kindergarten. I remember walking in to the classroom and realizing that It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.

I ran across the room seeing the teacher had painting supplies. I turned around and saw my mom crying. I walked back over to her. "Mommy why are your crying?" I asked sincerely. "Are you sad about something? Because if you are you can always tell me."
"Oh sweet heart, I'm crying bc you are getting so old I'm going to be lonely at home now that your in school," she told me reassuringly, with a small smile, and a hug.
"But mommy not for long, because the baby is coming soon, right mommy?" I smiled brightly. "Bye bye mommy I'll see you tomorrow."
My mom giggles to herself knowing that I'll see her this afternoon. She hugged me one last time. "Bye sweetie, see you later," she said wiping the tears away from her eyes.
I turned around after watching her leave, with a huge smile on my face. I ran back over to the art supplies and noticed someone else just standing there staring at a water color pallet.
"What's that?" I ask the boy.
"It's beautiful," he stated looking up at me.
"Well of course it is," I laughed, looking into his eyes.
"I'm JD by the way. You are..?" He asked curiously.
"I'm grace. Is JD your real name?"
He looks down laughing at my question.
"Stop," I wine, "it just a question."
"I just kidding," he smiles to himself.
"Well?" I ask.
"No... it John Douglas, but I don't like it that much so Its JD for short," he looks at me hoping that was enough of an answer.
"Hey you two come sit down we were gonna start class. How does that sound?" Our teaches says crouching down next to us.
"Okay," I say simply with a smile and walk off.

I guess since then we've been like brother and sister.
"Grace!......Grace?!? Oh god grace please answer. Please please please please please....... Grace? OH MY GOD GRACE THIS IS SERIOUS ARE YOU OKAY, ANSWR ME!!!!!" I here JD shout, snapping me out of my thoughts.
"Yeah, in so sorry I kinda zoned out."
"OH MY GOD GRACE YOU SCARED ME SO BAD!"
"JD chill out I'm fine!" I shouted into my phone.
Almost instantly after I had said that I regretted it. I was being thrown forward by the sudden stop. I still couldn't see but I could hear two men talking now.
"Come on. She's awake we have to do something to her." I heard a man with a deep voice whisper.
"What if she's not the right one?" I hear another voice that seemed awfully familiar to me. I just couldn't put my finger on who it was.
I suddenly hear doors closing and some sounds outside the truck.
It was then that I realized that there was only a curtain separating me from the front seat of the truck.
I peep through the curtain. No one. I here some noises in the back like they were unlocking the door to check on me.
I quickly crawl through the curtain pulling it closed behind me.
I open the front door and jump out onto the road. I quickly look around to see where I am.... Detroit.
I run down the road and walk into a local coffee shop hopping the men didn't notice me.
I sit in the far corner for 15 minutes in silence before I realize I should probably call JD back.
