Meteor’s POV
“Bakit pag weekdays, napakahirap mong gisingin? Pero pag weekends, especially Saturdays, mas nauuna ka pang gumising sa akin?,” I heard Casey at my bedroom door. “To think na ready to leave ka na ngayon, Princess when it’s just 5 in the morning.”
I closed my back pack at sinuot ko ito. “You already know the answer, Casey. Alam mo namang adventure comes every Saturday.” I gave her a grin as I plugged my earphones in.
“Whatever you say, Princess. Saan nga pala ang destinasyon mo ngayon?”
“Aside from our usual routine, I seriously have no idea what Alice is planning. May pupuntahan daw kami ngayon.”
I checked myself at the mirror. Sinuot ko ang black hood na palagi kong ginagamit when I go out of the palace every Saturday. Hindi nila pwedeng malaman na ang prinsesa ng Sirius Kingdom ay palakad-lakad lang sa labas without any guards. Being a part of a royal family could be dangerous. Maraming tao ang naghahabol sa malakas na kapangyarihan which us, royals, have in the first place. Our lives would be in danger in the hands of those greedy people.
That is why my parents, the King and Queen, forbid us to go out of the palace. Nakakulong lang kami sa sulok nitong palasyo.
Pero syempre, a princess like me couldn’t stay like that. I found a way to escape this unfortunate reality and explore the outside world.
“You ready?,” Casey popped my thoughts away. Sinuot ko ang maskara ko na katulad ng ginagamit sa masquerade balls. It has a design of blazing fire pero hindi siya kulay pula. Instead, it has a color of fiery blue.
I nodded at Casey. “Drink it up, Casey.”
Pumunta siya sa isang portrait at may pinindot dito. It’s a secret vault created by me, of course. Dito nakalagay ang mga potions na ginagawa ng isang matalik na kaibigan.
“This would be the last one, Meteor. Huwag mong kalimutang humingi kay Lionel for next week,” she showed me a bottle containing a pinkish fluid.
“If Lionel is here, he would probably break your neck. It’s Leona,” I laughed. Si Lionel ay ang nag-iisa kong kaibigan na hindi royal o isang commoner. Isa siyang illusionist wizard. Wait, kulang ang description. Baklang Illusionist Wizard.
“Whatever,” ininom na ni Casey ang laman ng bote at hindi nagtagal, I’m already looking at the reflection of myself. And there you have it, another Meteor at the palace. Simple lang naman ang ginagawa ng potion na yon, kapag ininom ito ng isang tao, magiging kamukha niya ang taong nasa harap niya. Kaya katulad ngayon, Casey looked exactly like me.
“Ikaw na bahala dito, Casey,” binuksan ko ang aking closet at hinawi ang mga damit ko. Sa likod nito ay may secret keypad at pinindot ko ang password. Seconds passed and a secret door opened. “I’ll be back by sunset.”
“Yeah sure. Wag ka lang papahuli sa mga royal guards,” she said while turning the TV on at tumalon sa kama ko. Ngayon, ang iisipin na lang ng pamilya ko ay manonood ako ng TV, kakain at matutulog buong araw para sa free day ko ngayon.
Ganito lagi ang set-up namin ni Casey for the past five years simula nang makahanap ako ng paraan para masilayan ang outside world. Wala namang problema sa kanya ang ganito dahil in some part of her, gusto niya ring maranasan ang pagiging prinsesa. My family wouldn’t know about this set-up dahil ang alam nila, tuwing Sabado ay umaalis si Casey para magbakasyon. The two of us only know this secret.
Pumasok na ako sa secret door at umupo sa pinakaentrance nito. Now this is going to be great.
