Kaagad siyang tumalon palayo nang makaramdam siya ng presensya sa kanyang likuran, mula sa kaninang puwesto niya ay lumitaw si Rain. She looked at her. A wind floats above her hands and solidified.

Rain's attribute...the ability to manipulate the wind by turning it into hard solid. Humahanga siya. Pero malakas ang tiwala niya sa sarili na mas malakas siya.

But before she can even muster her next move, Rico was finally beside her. Her heart almost stopped beating but decided to ignore it. She glared at her husband who's looking at her intently in return.

"Rico."

"Rei. Stop this."

Umiling siya. Ngayon pa ba siya titigil kung kailan abot-tanaw na niya ang tagumpay?

"I might kill you," the man whispered.

"Then...kill me." she answered bravely.

Rico's expression became blank. She couldn't read it. But she knew...

Things were getting serious.

Mabilis na nakarating ang Dean sa kinaroroonan ni Haru. Malaya siyang nakapasok sa teritoryo nito na para bang may kung sino ang inaasahan ang kanyang pagbisita. Palinga-linga siya sa paligid, nagmamasid, at nakikiramdam. He felt the presence of Adrienne...and Elisse. He felt something's going to happen, which he did not know yet.

Sa simula pa lang ay alam na niyang gagawa ng paraan si Adrienne para makarating kung nasaan man si Elisse. He knew and predicted it. He let the kid to access the location on the computer. He let her go, simply because he knew what's going on.

This might change everything.

He stopped when he finally reached a certain door. Dahan-dahan niya itong binuksan at bumungad sa harapan niya ang inaasahang nilalang.

Haru.

He looked at him and smiled. "Beautiful, isn't it....Rod?" He asked, pertaining to what's happening.

Hindi siya sumagot. Ngumisi lang si Haru at napailing.

Bumalik sa alaala ni Dean Rod kung paano nga ba sila naging magkakilala.

They were friends before. Just like all the clichés story, they both fell in love with the same girl. But then, as a good man and a friend, Rod gave up his love for Rain and decided to support them.

Pero isa na lang iyong nakalipas na alaala na magandang pagkuwentuhan at pagtawanan kung sakali. Those young years were definitely the best.

He's still in love with Elisse's mother—Rain—but he knew better. Mailap ang pag-ibig sa kanya. Love was something he'll never get from the woman. That's why he dedicated himself as a sole guardian of the university itself.

A vampire's love was eternal...and he won't regret not finding someone else. Rain was his eternal even if he wasn't hers.

Kahit noon pa man, sa kabila ng kakayahan niyang makabasa ng isip ng tao at bampira, kay Haru lang ang hindi niya pa nakikita. It's like the man's mind was always closed at default. Haru was hard to read.

"You never changed."

Haru step forward and in a flash, he attacked him. Hindi na nagulat si Rod kung kaya't mabilis niya itong nasangga at sinuklian niya ito ng suntok na nailagan din nito.

Without passing a single chance, Rod lanched another attack and vanished through his speed when Haru dodged it. Pumunta siya sa gilid nito to offer him a liver blow. He made it but caused almost zero damage to his opponent.

"Mainit ka pa rin, Rod." Haru almost chuckled.

Rod just sighed and shook his head. He smiled. "Matagal na rin akong walang exercise."

Haru laughed a little. It sounded a little awkward like he haven't laughed for a long time. "Would you dare to kill me?"

Rod shook his head. "Let our existing law punish you. I am just here to stop you."

"By force?"

"If I have to."

"Elisse?"

Nakaramdam ng kakaiba si Adrienne nang makitang napaluhod na lang bigla si Elisse at natulala. She kneeled down and stared at her but saw nothing. Blangko ang mata nito, para bang wala na itong nakikita.

"Elisse!"

She gulped. Nagbago ang kulay ng mga mata nito...

It turned white.
