His eyes snapped up to meet mine, I raised my chin daring him to see the doubt that lived there.
"Carrie."
His lips curled into a satisfied smirk, he apparently liked the sound of my lie on his tongue. Again he seemed lost in thought, yet his hold never loosened. I cleared my throat.
"And you are?"
My small voice pulled him from his daze, and suddenly his eyes were back on me, sharp again.
"Damien."
Taking another deep breathe I put on my best sad expression. Which was suddenly made easier with another of Blues prods.
"Damien, please let me go. Your hurting me."
I let my voice crack for dramatic affect. Damien wasn't hurting me, it took alot to actually, physically hurt me. But in hopes that he would release me and open an otherwise closed window of opertunity for escape I faked the outward pain. Wincing and pleading with my eyes. In an instant his hands disapeared and i was more then a little relieved that my acting had worked. But before I could bolt for the doors his arms shot out, caging me on either side of my head against the aisle shelf.
"Carrie, I know this is going to sound strange to you. But you need to come with me. "
*He knows*
The fear was back before I had time to even comprehend it.
"No, I need to go home."
A low growl emitted from his chest, and his hold on the metal shelves tightened. From the corner of my field of vision I watched as the metal gave easily beneath his strong grip, molding to the shape of his clenching fingers.
"No."
His voice was inhuman. Hes losing control. Horrified I watched as Damiens eyes shifted from a luminous emerald to a dull black. Taking advantage of his sudden lapse in self control I ducked under one arm and reaching behind my back dug my growing claws through the gloves into the lip of the metal shelf ripping it free. Producing for myself an impressively sharp metal shard.
Everything seemed to move in slow motion, twisting as I fell past his side I turned the metal in my hand before plunging it deep into his lower ribs. An inhuman snarl sounded as Damien faltered sideways. He didnt fall, instead he braced himself against the shelving his eyes again finding mine. Again they were green and now hurt.
"Im so sorry." I meant it, something about those eyes and the pained way they held me made me regret ever hurting him. Even more then hurting him I regretted the distance id put between us.
In the next second his face twisted into a hateful sneer and the green was again overtaken by black. Blood gushed out across the floor as he straightened then recoiled. Whatever control Damien had over his other half was lost with the green as his body suddenly began thrashing violently- taken by the change.
Unable to move I stood watching him, listening to the sickening snap and pop as his bones broke into their larger shape. Brown fur sprouted out from between the ripped gashes of his shirt and his ankles broke backwards to resemble something a kin to a universals Wolfman. Hunched over and still shifting a clawed, elongated hand reached back to rip with a sickening slurp the metal protruding from his back. A sharp pain flared up in my own flank as the metal shard hit the floor, taking me further off guard.
Having wasted enough time gauking I turned in the next second to sprint down the aisle towards the door. As I manuvered black dots appeared at the edge of my vision and everything appeared to shine with an outwardly sharp blue sheen.
