To be a keyblade master means to be focused, caring, just, and able to make decisions within seconds. It was a difficult thing to become and many have failed the test. Here however, is a Master above myself. I too became a one under his watch and still regard him as my master. His other students have undergone the same training, and two are currently taking the test.
Aqua and Terra.
Aqua I have complete Faith in, I have been here longer but she is showing twice the potential I showed. Terra is very strong but his strength is fueled by the wrong power, he's a work in progress. But Master Eraqus and I have Faith.
Unfortunately faith wasn't enough as the test ended. Before he told them the outcome I took my leave, I couldn't see the disappointment of Terra as he learns he didn't pass. But as I left I could feel the eyes of our guests on me. It was a older man of apparently equal strength as Erasmus and his masked student. They had a strange energy to them.
"Lin!" I turned at the call of my name, stirring my warm drink in the kitchen.
"Ven?" Looking to my right I saw our youngest member, Ventus.
"Lin!" Ventus hurried over.
"Yeah?"
"LIN!"
"What?"
"C-!"
"Wait let me guess" I sighed. "You're upset about the results and and feel like complaining but aren't going to because it's incorrect and Master Eraqus is always right." I said. He let a bewildered nod out. To avoid eye contacted I thought quickly. "Um. But I must say." I sipped my drink. "That Master Xehanort, the man who spectated is creepy. He seemed very off."
"Poor Terra" Ventus looked at the ground sadly and then looked back to my dark gray eyes.
Sad he didn't take the subject change I managed a smile. "You should go back to your room Ven" I grabbed his arm and pat his shoulder. "I've received word that Terra, Aqua and I will be leaving shortly. "You have to stay and help Master Eraqus keep this place safe"
"I guess" Ventus looked at me sadly. I pulled him to his room and said my good bye with the promise that i'd visit. He just nodded.
As I walked down the hall the realization hit me. Everyone was going to be seperated things would definitely be so different. And Master Eraqus was worried about us all leaving, Terra had shown signs turning to the darkness.
I sighed not sure I was ready for the venture myself. Me being a 'master' was purely luck due to being completely in tune with the light. I couldn't match the others in strength. But I was incorruptible to the darkness, that was extremely handy to fighting against that same darkness. Finally my thoughts stopped and I bit at my cheek.
"Terra," I sighed, stopping in the middle of a hall. Watching a cloud through a open window to my left. "please... don't let us down." A cold chill ran up my back. "Darkness?"
"So you can sense it" A voice rang.
"Show yourself." I demanded as my keyblade appeared. Suddenly my hands were being held above my head and another hand held my neck as I was pinned to the wall. My keyblade flew accross the hall.
The boy in a mask looked back at me. "You need to be more aware of your surroundings, senseing me won't be enough" He chuckled. "I was considering to just get rid of you now so you wouldn't bother me outside of here but maybe you'll turn into something fun" He let go of my hands and brought me close, still holding tightly to my neck. "Get stronger, then I'll find you."
"I don't understand." I choked. Struggling with his grip. "Why do this?"
"To test you when I'm bored." He threw me aside like nothing with a laugh.
Hitting the floor hard a grunted, summoning my keyboard back to my hand I pointed it at him swiftly. "I thought you were Master Xehanort's student? What's the meaning of this?"
Disregarding the question he shrugged. "You'd better hurry."
"Hurry?" I was now standing. Eyeing him out. Under that mask I had no idea what he looked like and I had no idea of his intentions or even strength.
"Terra" His tone seemed as if to be toying with me. He'll be changed when you meet him,and you don't want anything to happen to him" He stated. I took in his figure, memorizing everything as best I could within that moment, praying he had no intention to fight but fully preparing myself for one. "And wouldn't you hate for something bad to happen to that idiot Ventus."
"Ven?" My hair stood on end now. "Stay away from Ven" I warned sharply.
"hmph, well it's either me or Terra that'll bring harm to him."
"Terra would never hurt Ven!"
"Doesn't darkness take what it pleases?"
"He's strong enough to get past it!"
"Really?" He was suddenly holding my chin and I felt his breath against my ear. I froze. When had he gotten so close? I was sure I hadn't even blinked. "You think he'll overcome it?" He chuckled, his mask was off but I couldn't see his face. All I could feel was his warm breath against my ear. "You'll be disappointed. Your friendship club will break apart. And just so you can be my entertainment." He ripped the necklace I had wrapped around my wrist right off. The strap snapped and cut my skin. In a panic I tried to turn fast enough to take it. He was no longer so close but now stood a few feet before me. His mask was back on and all I could see was my torn expression as he held the star up. "I'll be taking this"
"No!" I lunged forward. "Give it back!"
"Yes I will take this stupid thing. Because-" he again disappeared and was shoving me to the floor with a elbow strike to my neck. "what's yours is now mine." He laughed and disappeared into a whisp of darkness. His last words rang.
I frowned, deeply infuriated. I yelled in anger uselessly into the air. I pulled at some of my long ginger hair not sure of what else to react with.
"Ven!" I could hear the panic in Aquas yell.
I ran to the window and shielded my face as a gust filled the hall. With a flash of color I saw Ventus fly by in his armor.
"I'm sorry!" He yelled as he passed it.
"No! Ven!" I called out, almost pleading with the now gone teen. Looking down from the edge I could see the others all staring just as terrified. Jumping from my place I landed by Master Eraqus and Aqua.
"Master Lin" Eraqus adressed me. "You and Master Aqua must bring Ventus back. Lin you will leave now as I give Aqua further instructions." I nodded.
"I'll do so." I changed to my armor as I ran then I jumpped onto my red gray motorcycle like craft. With this I flew off. But to my left before I passed through the portal I could see the masked boy standing on my balcony swinging my necklace around like a toy. His laugh rang through my head as his image dissappeared.
~~~~~~A/N~~~~~~
Okay so this is an incredibly old story I wrote back in my Quizilla days. I forgot I had saved it before the site went down. It's actually an already completed story but I'm so embarrassed by some of its details that I'm trying to alter it a tad. But hey. At least you know it actually complete and just needs to be touched up!
So hit me with those comments and let me know what you think!
On another note. I've now got a special request account by the username @RedKitFox
