I heard her open the book. "Hello" she says.

"It's about time" I said to her in an angry tone. "I've had to wait here forever before someone finally opened me up. Do you know how boring it gets just sitting on shelf waiting for someone to pick you?"

"I'm sorry, I just couldn't afford to buy it right now."

I shrug my shoulders. "Whatever. All that matters is that I finally get someone to be with me forever" I say with a soft smile spreading across my face.

"So, are we going on an adventure, like in all those other books? Or is it gonna be one of those books with a sad ending?" She inquireed.

"I'm not like those other books. You know that, right?" I pause to look down, since my neck is hurting from looking up too long.

"I know that" she answers me, tapping the book pages. I make a shudder.

"Sorry, but could you please stop that? This book is my home you know."

She stops immediately. "Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't know" I could tell she sounded embarrassed. " No, no, no, it's fine. The sound just gets a bit annoying." I say.

She takes a breath of relief.
