The cold wind of winter slams the windows of my bedroom, startling me from my sleep. I wake up with a jolt and look towards the windows annoyed. I pull the covers and get under them, avoiding getting out of bed to close the windows. After seconds, of shivering because of the cold, I sigh, even more annoyed, and get up to close the windows.

I put on my glasses, and get down the stairs to make breakfast. My older sister sits at the island of the kitchen, drinking iced tea and eating cookies. She looks at me with furrowed brows before smiling and wishing me a happy morning. I roll my eyes and make my way to the coffee machine, to make myself some coffee.

"Didn't sleep well?" I nod. "Was it the windows again?" I nod again.

"Aren't you going to say good morning to your sister?" my mother asks, walking into the kitchen.

"I'm sorry." I mumble, and take her mug out of the coffee machine. "I'm still asleep." I pause a little and try to focus on my sister and mom. "I think." I add, taking a sit beside her.

"Excited for school today?" my sister asks with a smile and our mother joins her.

"Why? It's only school... It's the same everyday."

"I have a feeling today." my sister assures me. I shrug, not convinced.

"Are you driving me to school?" I ask her.

"Sure." she nods. "But don't get used to it!"

"It's only because it's monday... Mom drives me to school every tuesday and thursday, every other day I take the bus."

Our mother laughs and says, "Every other day meaning, only wednesday and friday, since you always make one of us drive you on mondays."

"Always!" my sister adds.

"Right..." I roll my eyes.

"Finish your coffee, or you won't have a ride to school today!"

I roll my eyes again, but smile. "Got it!"

I finish my coffee and run upstairs to pick my outfit. After fifteen minutes of deciding, and two warning screams from my sister to hurry up, I finally decide on a pair of black pants, a white and pink shirt, and my black suede boots. Another fifteen minutes later, I am wearing my contact lenses and have finished applying my make up.

I skips the steps two at a time, and wait for my sister at our porch. "Ashley! I'm ready!" I scream.

"Chill." she says coming out from the living room. "Do you have everything?" she asks eyeing me up and down.

"I forgot my jacket!"

"I knew it." She hands me my black leather jacket and I thank her. "Mom, we're leaving!" she screams.

Our mom comes running into the porch, still wearing half of her pajamas and kisses us on our cheeks. We get into my sister's car and she drives to my school.

"So, how is work?" I ask after my sister turns on the radio.

She sighs, "It's good, people everywhere, a little bit too noisy, but other than that, it's all the same."

"That's good." Satisfied by her answer I turn my head to the window and watch as we pass our neighborhood and enter the center of the small town.

Once we arrive, my sister stops briefly at the entrance of the only highschool in town and smiles again at me. "Have a nice day."

"Thanks." I get out of the car and hear her mumble 'I know you will', but before I can ask, she turns the motor on, and drives away to work.

I shake my head and look for my friends. Abigail runs towards me and I laugh when my friend falls onto me.
