"Just because we don't talk anymore doesn't mean I don't think about you. I'm just trying distance myself because I know I can't have you." ~ Wiz Khalifa

Four days later...
Dad's violin sat on a shelf in the music room, the dust slowly starting to cover the smooth cherry wood that used the glimmer against the lights in the room. The whole house was quiet. However, the floor was still covered with shatters pictures frames, bottles, chairs that were shoved across the room and fallen over..and Mom's wedding ring that still sat on the ground, the gemstones cracked and a gloomy shadow could be seen castes upon the ring.
Tiffany and I were helping out mom as she went to town to offizalifze the restraining order against dad and the divorce, we no longer would see dad ever again. Picking up a trash bag I walked around the house to throw out any pictures with dad that we had....mom told us we were going to erase that part of history and try to move on.
"Be careful with the glass Mel!" Tiffany called out as she was polishing the wooden table in the family room. I nodded my head slowly before warily walking up the stairs to the second floor where mom and dad- I mean Mom's room was. Entering the room chills went down my spine and slight nostalgia surfaced within the room. The book shelf that used to have all of dad's books there that were all about with astronomy or anything science and violin related, how the huge closet in their room was now extremely open since all his clothes were gone, the alarm clock he used to have was gone and also his star later machine that he used to put up for Tiffany when she was younger.
Looking around I slowly picked up the broken picture frames that were smacked off the walls nights before..Picking up one picture my eyes narrowed with curiosity. In the picture it looked slightly older, and there stood seven people. Mom and dad when they were younger, mom's stomach looked like a third trimester, this was probably taken when she was first pregnant with Tiffany...But besides that there a couple other people, one girl who had brown hair with red in the roots and with most beautiful blue/puruplish eyes I've ever seen...and she seemed to be pregnant as well, next to her holding her close was a man that seems to be about 19 years old, messy Raven black hair and the greenest eyes that reminded me of an evergreen forest, then in the corner of the picture was a guy with blonde hair and crystal blue eyes. On the left side of the picture was another couple, the girl had caramel colored hair and hazel eyes while the man next to her had black hair and ocean blue eyes...
Gazing upon the photo I noticed that even though they looked happy, it was almost like I could sense fear that was shown in their eyes...
What could have they been so afraid of?, I wondered to myself.
I stood up and flipped the photo over, seeing names written down that was slightly smeared from the pen ink.
Charlotte Walston
James Little
Derek and Annabelle Kingston
Lucas Powers
"Who are these people?" I whispered to myself, suddenly as I more the picture out of the picture frame somethings dropped to the floor, I gasped quietly to myself and looked down to see what it was.
There on the ground laid the most gorgeous crystal necklace I've ever seen. It was pure Crystal and shaped like a heart, the necklace chain was made out of pure silver. I picked it up and examined it even more to noticed an extremely small lid on it, it was a locket..
"What's that Caramel?" Tiffany's voice could be heard from behind me. I was slightly startled before turning around and looking at her.
"I....f-F-F-F-found this locket." I whispered. Tiffany carefully walked over as she looked down to avoid the pieces of glass. Picking the locket out of my hand she slowly examined it before opening it.
"Who are these people?....I've never seen them in my life." Tiffany mumbled. I glanced at the opened locket and noticed there was another picture of the group, they seemed to be standing on a cliff edge in Ireland somewhere. Looking at the corner piece I noticed some small handwriting...it was Dad's.
Firestone, Ireland 1997...Last week with the Littles and Derek.
"What are you looking at girls?"
Tiffany and I turned around startled to see mom leaning against the doorway
To her bedroom, a file of papers in her hands.
"We -just-we were just-"
"We were looking at this photo and a locket that's all.." Tiffany suddenly snapped. Mom glanced at Tiffany with shock and so was I....she's been having these sudden tempered attitude towards mom.
"It was this Mommy~..." I said meekly, I lifted the locket from Tiffany's hand and walked closer to mom. I noticed how mom's blue eyes slightly started to water up with tears.
"Where did you find this Mel?" Mom whispered, taking away the locket and placing it on her hand she sighed, trying to keep her tears in.
"It fell out of a picture frame...Mommy who are these people-"
"They were friends of your Dad and I's....before~......Before-"
"Before what?" Tiffany snapped.
Mom stayed silent, a tear quickly fell from her eye onto the little picture in the locket and the bigger picture.
".....before We had an Appalling Falling.." Mom whispered. Then she quickly took the photo and the locket away, scurrying down the stairs.
Tiffany rolled her eyes and mumbling some stuff under her breath, I still was shocked with her sudden outburst towards mom.
"Why are you being so mean to mommy Tiffany...she's already been dealing with enough crap." I said sternly. Tiffany turned around and liked at me.
"She's lying to us Mel.." Tiffany muttered.
Those words hit me like bricks, I looked down at the ground and went through my thoughts.
Tiffany is just being over dramatic....Right?
"Tiffany stop joking around-"
"I'm not though, mommy is hiding something from us and I know dad was trying to tell us...because of her secrecy it's the reason why our family fell apart in the first place." Tiffany said darkly, I was taken back by this and stepped away from her slightly. Gulping a few times I then stomped my foot quietly in protest.
"Your wrong, It's already bad enough that we've had to deal with what he did to us...But I'm not going to let something like that ruin the only other loving relationship I have in this falling family!" I said loudly.
Tiffany's green eyes widened with my response.
"Mel....just stay away from Mom-"
However, before she could reply I walked out of the room and ran up the stairs, slamming my bedroom
Door and plopping onto my mint green club chair.
If our family really is continuing to fall apart.,.what are the odds that Tiffany and I may have a falling out or worse, I wondered. But I shook that thought off and looked at the sunset..the splattered pinks and reds that covered the summer sky.
"Just stay positive Caramel...everything's going to be alright." I whispered to myself, but slowly tears rolled down my cheeks.
