October drabbles

"...Oh shit, it's October."

She skipped happily across her cold floor, the weather had finally gotten cold enough to wear a sweater, her smile spread across her face with soft eyes. The girl lifted her socks past her ankle and roughly grabbed her hat, putting it on her head, tucking some of her hair in. The stairs made a creak as she walked down them, her eyebrow raised but was dismissed with a mutter to herself, the smells from the kitchen caught her sensitive nose as she got closer.

"Babe! Are you in there?" her voice carried throughout the house as she called for her partner.

"Yes, just me." another voice called out but softer, her girlfriend was in sight as she rounded the corner, her dazzling blonde hair fell down her back, complete with a soft looking, plaid jacket, as she messed with something on the counter. The girl dressed in her sweater and had puffy hair that beautifully complimented her dark skin, rested against the bar in the kitchen, her girlfriend turned to face her, her face gleaming ear-to-ear, the girl looked down in front of her to see a mug full of liquid, her face scrunched up and her eyes scanned her excited girlfriend.

"So.. this is, what exactly?" her voice emerged from her throat, coming out slightly raspy.

"Well, I know that your kind doesn't really drink a lot of.. human drinks, so I made you apple cider." the girl's partner watched as her nervous eyes shift uneasily towards the new drink, taking a sniff trying to make sense of it then without warning taking a small sip, her nose scrunched up once again, she did not hate this new brew. Her girlfriend smiled once again and asked,

"So what did you think?" trying to make sense of her reaction, the non-human girl put on a gentle smile and looked up at her girlfriend,

"It's absolutely perfect, babe."  watching her girlfriend's reaction made her heart flutter with joy, she sat her cup down and smiled at her delighted face, "I have to get going, babe." she kissed her gently across the counter, "I will see you later, you can make me drink more of your weird brews" she paced herself over to the coat hanger and grabbed her scarf off it and setting out the door. The chilly wind blew across the skin that she had bare, some decorations caught her attention which halted her on the sidewalk, she slightly tilted her head to the side as she glared at the plastic skeleton then she veered to the webs that covered the trees in this particular neighbor's yard, she seemed a bit confused at the time. The non-human girl's hand went to her back pocket, pulling out her smart phone, she was still getting the hang of it, her claw scratched her screen as she tried to press on it, she rolled her eyes a bit frustrated with the device, she looked at the date quickly and looked up, wide eyed, the words leaving her mouth before she thought about it,

"...Oh shit, it's October."
