Chapter One

"Leave Her Alone."

Bella's Point Of View-

There was no way I was going to make it through today. Looking myself over in the mirror, I fumbled with my aqua colored sundress and tried to prepare myself for the long day ahead of me.

It was my first day of my junior year in high school as some may call it. But to me it was just another year of pure hell. Why should I be excited to go to the same school with the same shitty people who didn’t give a damn about me?

Walking back into my room, I picked up my brown satchel off of the pink floral bedspread and headed downstairs to get some breakfast.

Once I reached the bottom step of the wooden staircase, I heard my mother’s voice instantly try to brighten my mood, which she knew wouldn’t work.

            “Ready for your first day?”

“No.” I replied bluntly, grabbing a banana from the fruit bowl.

“I’m sure it’ll be better than you expect it to be.” She replied soothingly. “It’ll be better than last year.”

I laughed and shook my head. I don’t think any year could be worse than last year. High school was the worst thing that could have ever happened to me.

“Whatever.” I rolled my eyes and turned for the door.

I could see the disappointment in my mother’s eyes as she scanned my face over. I wish I could be that happy go lucky cheerleader daughter that I used to be but that’s just not who I was anymore.

“You don’t want me to drive you today?” she questioned sadly.

“Why? I have my driver’s license.”

She sighed and pushed her short brunette hair behind her ear. I guess you could say I got my looks from my mother. I had the same color brunette hair except mine was wavier and it hung straight down my back, the curls falling just above the middle of my spine. My eyes were the same color blue and we shared the same button nose. The only feature I got from my father were my full pink lips.

            “Suit yourself.” She muttered.

Ever since my parents split up my mother and I never stopped fighting. I wanted to live with my dad full time but she fought for custody and got it. My dad was like my best friend, we did everything together. He only lived a half-hour away from my mother so he could see us as often as he could but the only time I got to see him was on the weekends, which killed me. I hated her for that and I don’t think I’d ever forgive her.

I slipped my white sandals on and grabbed my keys off the hook. Thankfully I had gotten my license so I didn’t have to sit through the awkward car rides with her anymore. Not even saying goodbye, I shut the door behind me and clattered my sandals down the gravel driveway, stopping to unlock the door of my own red Nissan Altima. My father bought it for me on my sixteenth birthday, something my mother disapproved of. She said I would become a rebel but boy was she wrong.

Backing gracefully out of the driveway, I began ascending on my way to hell. I didn’t want to even think about what would happen today. Last year I used to be the popular girl that every guy drooled over and would do anything to be with. I never liked the attention but that’s just how everyone viewed me. I had amazing grades and fantastic friends until I met a boy named Brett and a horrible bitch named Danielle.
