"Well I guess I'll see you tomorrow," Jannice said leaning over to kiss her boyfriend Mat on his cheek.
"Get out of my car." He said under his breath, with her lips only inches away from his face.
"What?"
"I said Get-Out Of-My-Car." He said in a louder tone
"Mat, if this is about what happened at the party then I'm really sorry. I..." Jannice put a hand on Mat's shoulder. She could feel the texture of his shirt.
He was wearing a dark blue and white checked shirt; it was left unbuttoned, exposing the plain white vest on the inside. He had his favourite, silver chain on with the pendant resting firmly on his chest. It was a capital P that stood for PITTSBURGH, his home town.
"Jesus Jannice, can't you hear what I'm saying? Get the fuck out of my car." He shouted at her.
"Mat please don't do this again." Jannice could feel the red hot tears forming in her eyes. She held them back as much as she could cause she knew Mat hated it when she cried.
"Look if you don't get out, I will personally drag you out." He said looking at her this time with his eyes fiery with anger.
Jannice looked at him for a good 4 seconds, hoping the coldness in his eyes would soon disappear. To her dismay, the fire in his eyes did not soften. A tear trickled down her left flushed cheek. She quickly gathered her belongings from the back seat of the Mercedes, not that there was much it, staggered out of the car and onto the side walk outside her house. Mat rolled down the window at her door as she slammed it shut. She was already rushing towards her house.
"And don't text me till I text you. Don't even think of blowing up my phone" He shouted after her and within seconds he had pulled out and driven high-speed in the direction of his house.
Jannice opened the front door of the house that was left unlocked by her mum who knew she would be back before 12pm.
'Thanks mum' she said to herself.
She carefully walked into her house trying not to make noise for her mum and little brother who were probably fast asleep. It was 11.37 pm; they had to be.
She tiptoed into peach living room and threw herself on one of the large, white couches her mum had purchased just the week before.
She stared down at the things in her hand that she had gathered from Mat's car.
She had accidentally carried the white shirt with her!
She lifted it up at eye length and spread it with her hands to see just how badly the grape flavoured drink had stained the shirt. It was bad. A stain the size of Africa shone in purple. It would take days for it to completely come off. That was why he was upset with her in the first place.
She had accidentally tipped a cup of mirinda all over his white shirt at Michael's party. It was an honest accident, but Mat didn't believe it because Jannice said she found it kind of funny. Mat lost his cool and said he wanted to leave, then and now.
An army of tears welled up in Jannice's eyes as she thought of how much screaming he had done at her in front of all their friends. This wasn't the first time. As soon as one tear rolled down her face, it seemed to have triggered a heap of emotion because she began to sob profusively all over his shirt.
After what seemed like 30 minutes of never ending tears and a pungent smell of the grape juice mixed with Mat's favourite perfume; play boy, Jannice felt her phone vibrate from her back pocket.
She had a message
