When I pulled over to the park, Thomas got out slowly, as if debating something internally. We had stopped at a sandwich store and I had gotten lunch and a soda. We walked in silence to a picnic table in the shade.

" so if you're a vampire, how is you can walk around in the day and eat normal food without puking later?" I asked as we sat down. He gave me an amused look. " your taking this suprisingly well. Why is that? What do you see?" I grimaced. " how do you know about that?" he gave me a look, not sure if he wanted to drop his question, and then he sighed. " your mom could do it, too. Me and her where great friends." I choked on my soda. " you're only like, a few years older then me!" I managed. My mom moved before she even met my dad, how could he have been friends with her!?

" I'm older then I look. So was your mom. So is bailey and sheen. Kendra really is just 16 though." I narrowed my eye at him.

"then how old are you?"

" we'll sheen an I are approaching our 100 birthdays, bailey is 98, and your mom was almost 300 years old." I shook my head.

"that's not even funny. If she was a vampire, then how come I am not, and how come my dad was oblivious?" I demanded. He tilted his head back a moment before sighing. " eat and I will tell you everything that I understand. If you don't eat soon, then you're going to get sick." he added. I nodded curtly, opening the bag of chips I had also bought.

" your mom wasnt a vampire. Neither are you. Your mother was a 'incataysu' or, in English, an immortal gypsies." he paused, frowning just slightly, while I continued eating chips.

" anyway," he said after a minute and his frown disappeared, " the royal family long ago learned how to control werewolves." I froze, caught off guard, and he grinned. " yes, werewolves, that's what bailey sheen and Kendra are. They don't have to rely on the full moon, by the way. Vampires have long been consorts for the gypsies as well. The incataysu is given a vampire consort at birth. Your mother didn't like hers as an grew older, and constantly put off getting married until on day she ran away. She met your father soon after, fell in love, and had you. Old habits die hard, so after you where born she informed the royal family. Disgusted with her, they took away her immortality, and wanted to take yours as well, except your cousin, Lucas, saw a vision of you in power. So they couldn't."

I mulled this over a moment before I asked " so whose my consort or whatever then?" he gave me a dry look, and the dream flashed through my head. I blushed, looking down. " right." I murmured.

" you've avoided my question twice now." he said mildly. I took a big bite of my sandwich, looking down as I chewed. He shook his head.

" if I laughed your expression would have definitely made me do so."

" you laughed in my dream." I muttered. His slight grin fell.

" so I was in it?"

" among other things." I said, avoiding his gaze.

" how long?"

"what?" I asked, looking up. He leaned his elbows on the picnic table. " how long until the dream comes true?" I shrugged.

" they usually come true within the year. At the least in a week." I said. He rolled his eyes. " how long do you think?" he asked again. I hesitated, then truthfully said " less then two months. You guys are still here. Well," I frowned, thinking back into the dream.

" I guess I only remember you being there. But it's warm." I remembered, thinking of how I had had shorts on. He glanced at the sky. It was colder then it has been, but still about 50.

" so it can happen soon." he said mildly. I nodded.

" you avoided my question, too." I said, raising an eyebrow at him as we sat there in comfortable silence a few minutes. He shook his head, resting his chin in his hands. " I avoided it on purpose. Sunlight doesn't effect us, and eating solid food is like hitting yourself in the stomach, but doable. Liquids are easier, we just feel really sick." I nodded, and he studied me thoughtfully.

" you didnt exactly answer mine, either." I threw my hands up in the air.

"drop it, Thomas." his face broke into a breathtaking grin, but he nodded.

Several hours later I was laying on the picnic table, the bag of chips sitting on my stomach. We had been talking for awhile, but now there was a lull of conversation.

" I can make Rosalyn think that you're Eating when your really not, if that's easier for you." I said suddenly. He was laying on the seat, and he sat up to look at me. I turned my head to see him better.

" that'd definitely would be better. Thank you." he finally murmured, laying back down. I stared up at the sky, then gasped.

"what time is it!?" he sighed and I sat up on an elbow to look down at him. " it's about 5. Should we be getting home?" I bit my lip, thinking. Here at the park, all of this talk seemed imaginary, something I could listen to and not have to worry about wether it was true or not. But when we left... I'd have to accept that it really was true.

" doesn't Finn need medicine soon?" he asked. I groaned. "fine. Come on."
