Commitment

  I was dozing off to sleep on the couch when I heard a knock on my door. It was about 12:00 so I had no idea who would be at my door at this time. I stood up from the couch and crumbs and popcorn fell onto the floor.
  I opened the door to see none other than Lucas Friar. I tried to close the door but he stopped it with his foot.
"Ouch" he said.
"Shouldn't have out your foot there" I said.
"We need to talk" he said.
"I don't want to" I said.
"Hear me out. Give me 10 minutes"
"Fine"
"I'm sorry about last year when I picked Riley over you"
I raised my eyebrows. I was kinda glad he did. They only lasted a couple of weeks.
"Ok? I've been over that for months now" I said.
"My parents are convinced that I'm not serious about a relationship."
They aren't wrong there I thought to myself.
"So would you mind bein my girlfriend and proving I am"
"Lucas we are 16 years old!! That is the most immature thing I've ever heard" I said.
"Please Maya" he said.
"What do I get?" I said.
"The closure of knowing how our relationship would have been" he said.
"Ha no" I said.
"Get out times up" I said.
"I'll pay you" he said.
"Listening" I said.
"1000 a month"he said.
"Two months and only two months" I said.
"Deal" he said and held his hand out and we shook on it.
"Family dinner next week and I want you to meet my mom." He said.
"Ok text me the deets" I said and pushed him out the door.
