Just Studying

"I almost forgot that it is almost time to go train, Jaune." Jaune then hits his forehead.

"Oh yeah, I almost forgot. Sorry, Pyrrha." He then looks at me. "You okay if we head off Rubes?" I sigh and nod my head. As much as I want them to help me I know that Pyrrha's training is really helping Jaune out and I don't want to hinder him.

"Yeah, it's fine. I can manage." I then smile wide at both of them. "You guys go train. Really I can figure this out." They both nod and say their goodbyes. Once I know that they are out of sight I slouch back down and my lips go back to pouting. I force myself back to the book on Grimm. Ugh, this book is so stupid! How am I supposed to learn the anatomy of Grimm with just long words that make no sense and not at least show a picture of one single Grimm? I am not asking for a children's picture book but at least one picture of the different types of Grimm would help. Some of these sentences don't even make sense! I groan in frustration and slam my head on the table again this time a little harder. Surprised by how hard I hit my head I let out an "Ouch!" and at the same time someone else says "Oww". Looking where the sound came from I see... (Y/N)! What is he doing here? And why am I so excited? Oh, nevermind. Getting up from the chair I quickly make my way over to him. With a big smile on my face, I greet him.

"Hey (Y/N)!" He sorta smiles back at me.

"H-hey Ruby. N-not so loud okay? We are in the library after a-all." I stop and blush at his words. Looking around I see that I have attracted some extra attention from our fellow library-goers. Embarrassed I try to shrink out of their sight but I am stopped when I hit something. Looking forward I see what I hit was not a something but a someone and that someone is (Y/N). I blush more and back away.

"Sorry(Y/N)Ididn'tmeantodothat." Crud I did the fast talk thing again!

"It's f-fine Ruby." He laughs a little while saying that. I calm down when I hear his laugh. "S-so why are you in the library and are you hitting your head on the table?"

"Oh, it's just this stupid assignment Port gave us and this book is not helping, like, at all. Here. let me show you." I grab onto his arm, but he jerks away real fast. Quickly, I try to make it up to him. "Oh no, (Y/N), I am so sorry." His face goes back to being relaxed.

"N-no, it's fine Ruby. R-really. Just m-maybe give me a little warning next time. N-now what's the problem?" Nodding I lead him to the table that my stuff is at and show him the troublesome book and my research paper that I am trying to write. He looks back and forth at them both. Then he opens his mouth.

"Y-you do know that you are using an outdated index r-right?" I stare at him for a minute.

"What?"

"Y-yeah this one is about twenty, " He looks at the front of the book "no twenty-five years out of date." He points at a few numbers and I read them. He's right. No wonder it was lacking some information and pictures. I sit back down and prepare to hit my head again. Instead of my forehead meeting the wooden table, however, I land on soft skin. Looking I see (Y/N) has blocked me from my task.

"N-now let's not resort to masochism. Here," he moves his head from the table after making sure I wouldn't hit the table and grabs a book from his bag and hands it to me "this should be a t-tad more helpful." Taking the book from (Y/N)'s hands I look it over. A Grimm bestiary from about a year ago. Opening it up I flip through some pages to find that just about every page has detailed notes and additions to the entries that make it pretty thorough in giving details on the creatures of Grimm. Oh, and it even has annotations and pictures. Nice! I beam with happiness at him.

"Thanks (Y/N)! This will help out a lot." He smiles and turns to walk away. "Wait!" He looks back at me. "You don't have to go. You could stay if you want?" He nods and takes a seat next to me and I take a seat to while trying to hide my excitement. Though I don't know why I am so happy over getting this book. Unless it's (Y/N) that is causing my excitement. Pff Nah that can't be it... Right? Shaking my head, I go back to working while (Y/N) pulls out a textbook and begins to read it. We sit there for a few hours with (Y/N) helping me every now and again. After finishing the last sentence of the paper I sit back with a satisfied grin and stretch. There we go all done. Glancing over at (Y/N) I notice he is nodding off. He looks cute like that. Oh well better not disturb him just yet. I pack my things into my bag and then grab the bestiary that he loaned me. Being able to get a good look at the book I notice that it has seen some stuff. The edges of the book are rough and a little torn and the front looks like it has some wet marks on it. Not so much like someone spilled a drink on it or dropped it in a puddle, but more like a few rain droplets got on it. Opening the cover, I see there is some writing on it. On the little property of list are four names; Auburn, Rudi, Jay, and (Y/N). Wait if this is only a year old, how has it had three other owners before (Y/N)? Also, it's only a year old and is this worn down? I figured (Y/N) would take better care of his things than this. Before I can continue, I hear a quiet yawn and see that (Y/N) is up. In a tired voice, he asks me.

"All d-done?" I nod my head excitedly.

"Yup. Thanks again for letting me use your book." I hand him the old looking textbook with a smile. "I think I will get an A for sure on this." He smiles at that.

"Good." He puts the book back into his bag and gets up from his seat. "It's g-getting late and I don't w-want to worry Yang like we did last time." I get up while nodding in agreement. Yang still gets onto me for staying out so late from our first little outing. We head to the exit in a comfortable silence. Once outside I turn to him.

"Thanks again for your help, (Y/N). Want to study together again tomorrow?" I look at him hoping that he will say yes. He gives his sorta smile.

"W-well we have studied together every day so far, so I don't s-see why n-not." I jump with happiness and he chuckles again. One would think with a laugh that deep he would have a voice to match. Oh well, he waves good-bye and heads off to his dorm as I do the same. I can't wait to turn in this paper.
