My raw alabaster paws begged for mercy, to cease it's horrendous pain, I only continued. Pacing against the rugged terrain full of various rocks. My mind only set upon the previous situation no one should have faced.
My white thick coat was painted with blood from my mother. Her flowery scent vanished to a salty noxious fume of blood. I let out a whimper remembering how I found her, dead, cold, and gone from me, forever. At least I would return to her, possibly, until it was my time to cease my mortal existence. But this shouldn't have accured now and how it went about. Who did this? It was obvious from the lacerations it was a being, not a natural cause. It was an intention, a morbid one at that.
Leaning against the wind as I stared down the cliff edge, I don't see my mother. Just a few moments ago the cliff shifted. It caused her deceased wounded body to be thrown into the rushing waters below. The dark abyss swallowed her, whole.
I heard the thump of massive paws advancing. Still venerable from the shock, I kept still. Nothing mattered but the thought of my mother dead. The ache of my heart, the seething pain dwelling in my soul and veins. It took hold, creating a furious view. I felt, different.
Snapping out of my own thought I felt hot breath beside me. With the intentions of revenge on my mind, the horrible death of my mother, I lusted for taste of blood.
Without a single logical thought, I swung my paw at the being beside me, unbeknownst of who or what it was. I heard a surprised grunt that turned into a hostile growl. " Lapis, how dare you "? The voice snapped, it sounded familiar, almost scaring me of the thought who I just attacked, my alpha.
" Forgive me, I thought you we're someone else " I managed to stutter. I was to grief stricken, shocked, and now terrified. It combined, making myself weak. Weak minded, which made my physically weak. I felt a massive paw press against my haunches, I caved in. The pressure felt like a boulder crushing me. It was exhausting, a sudden darkness filled me. It calmed my restless soul, until I was awakened.
. . .
I felt the pain, the scathing pain of my wounds. I felt the consequences of disobeying my warning's and my alpha. What have I done? My alpha sat there, watching me from the shadows. I noticed his eerie intimidating green eyes burning into my flesh.
I groaned as I tried to arise, to face him. Did he forgive, did he have pity upon me? He let out a gruff growl, ceasing any further actions from me. " What happened too you, tell me ". He rumbled, his Baritone voice made me shiver. Scenting the fear, he tried to seem a bit less hostile.
" I found my mother, Willow, dead. She was injured severely by something with claws like us. I don't know who or what, but the scene and situation was horrid. A rock fall began and threw her into the water, off the cliff. I heard you approaching until my mental stability was horribly uncontrollable. Something odd took over me, something hostile. I wanted revenge and I went for it without logic " I finished, hoping this was enough truth for him.
" We'll find the killer, trust me " he responded. His eyes turned into a pale green showing his sympathy towards me. But it regained quickly to it's usual hue. " But, you will have to face the troubles you caused with your inflictions, Lapis ".
I puffed a sigh, feeling rather frightened by the consequence I will confront. He looked towards me, his eyes studying my expressions and body language. " What "? After managing to build the confidence to confront him, he peered at me.
He began to advance, baring his fangs in a menacing showcase. His massive paws dug into the earth as his prowl continued. I whimpered under my breath, hoping he'd notice it. I analyzed his eye color, it was black. Black, why was it black? Before I could react he lunged for my throat.
I jerked my head out of his snap, but his fangs embedded into a Offaly mistakable position. This is horrible, this isn't the way, he marked me. His eyes returned to silver within a heartbeat. The darkness faded out of the situation.
I could search his mind for his intentions, his emotions, his thoughts. " Get out of my mind, Lapis " he choked troubled. He closed his eyes as he began to lick the would he inflicted. I could tell his emotions, bewildered embracement.
" Why did you bite me " I asked, I didn't think much when I said the confrontation. My voice was a shallow and shaken murmur, barely audible. He paused and retreated back into the shadow of the cave. He puffed a sigh shaking his head. " I don't know, honestly. I'm as surprised as you. But what is done is done, we can't turn back ". The alpha is my mate then?
My spine began to shiver in robust strikes. I felt cold, alone again. He doesn't even want me, what would life be now?A life of polite rejection I had to deal with until my death.
The moon and ancestors can not be challenged with the laws of our traditions, it's done. All I have to do is mark him. The thought of it chilled me. He wouldn't ever love me, doubt he'd even let me set a paw upon his fur.
Suddenly, my heart felt a brief moment of pain. I squinted and looked towards my alpha, my mate, I followed his troubled gaze. I traced the trail of his focus and saw Sophie. I froze.
She was his future Luna and she noticed the tense situation. She advanced reluctantly and eyed the scene. My alpha turned his head away, deep shame surrounded him like a fire.
I was a burden, it felt like a seething pain in my heart. She didn't speak a word as she saw the mark upon my neck. She returned to the entrance, returning her gaze on me. I began to see her eyes glow. Her lips curled in a snarl baring alabaster serrated fangs, ready to pierce my flesh.
Alpha arose, growling in return at her. Even if I was a mistake, he was a honorable male. He'd never put his grief before a pack member, ever. She snapped a vicious snarl and trotted out. I felt the heat of jealousy escape her, the envy, the surge to clamp her dentals into my throat.
I never meant this to happen, I never wanted this. " Come " He ordered coldly, nudging me roughly as a wobbled after him. My legs felt as if made out of twigs. My brain wouldn't cooperate as the weight of the shock continued. Alpha already controlled his mind so information wouldn't leak accept the strong emotions came off like rays.
My body couldn't avoid the primal instincts, it felt joy. It felt proud, honored, and powerful. Alpha was our mate, ours. I shook the thought out of my mind, I clamped my teeth together with frustration. I hated this. This wasn't my fate but, now it is. I felt defenseless from the troubles that surged through me, it hurt.
Finally we arrived at the alpha den. It was a underground den with a fallen tree at the entrance top. Crunched bramble, moss, and owl feathers were contained in the nest. " I didn't expect company, I'll make you a nest " He stated coolly, trying to calm himself. I wanted to plead and have me do the duty, but I was to busy troubled within myself.
I circled an area of the den, the habit remained to create a resting place for myself doing so. Settling down into the cold earth I shut my sore eyes closed, my heart needs to rest.
. . .
" Wake up " Alpha growled and began to prod me with a paw. " I'm up, stop prodding me " I let out a fierce growl within instinct. He narrowed his eyes into glowing slits, great. I bristled past him and ceased anything further at the entrance.
I thought all night what I had to do with myself and figured many options. I figured, stay here until things are heated, maybe even boiling. " Your staying here with the females " he breathed, I could tell he was troubled.
" Let me go, let me free if, I'm a burden, a mistake. Let Sophie take me " I stated with bitterness. He growl baring his pearly whites tinted red from his abundant past of kills, of deaths. " That's not a tone to use with me, lapis " He responded. His tail slashed behind him showing his rising anger.
"Let me go " I repeated simply, my calm ghost gaze searching his.
" Your fate is not your fault, but mine. Do not put this upon yourself but have this fate be something to serve with. Serve the pack, the pack needs you ". He stated as he began to pad off into the evergreen forest, his lush tail was the last to be seen of him.
