"No," short and cold.

"Oh come on Daffadilly, there must be-"

I cringed. "Ew, Nanna don't call me that! And no there isn't."

"But I'm running out of ships." she pouted playfully.

Yes, this is my grandmother people.

..

"You forgot about me Android," I wailed jokingly. "I thought we were friends. I TRUSTED YOU... and you failed me." I added dramatically. "Kidding kidding, 'sup Andy?"

"Hey Lilly,"

He sounded so listless and dull that by just hearing his voice I can't help feeling sad too.

So forlorn it made me worried. Worse, anxious.

Besides all of that, it was obvious that he forced himself to answer the phone. And that kind of hurt.

It hurts to know that he didn't even want to talk to me.

But he did anyways, didn't he?

Well, yes but-

You are so clueless I swear.

I shrugged ignoring that and focused on what's going on with the guy on the other end.

"You okay buddy?" I asked concerned though still maintained my cheerful tone in hope it would make the conversation a bit more relaxed.

He emitted a long, deep audible breath expressing what seems like... depression.

There was a long pause then he spoke. "I'm... wistful."

"Which means?" I inquired wanting him to explain more.

"Unhappy."

Such a simple word that holds so much meaning behind it.

Considerably miserable and excessively unfortunate.

..

Ding Dong!

I ran to the front door as soon as I heard the door bell. He was here!

You must be wondering what's going on, let me inform you.

Andrew sounded so off through the phone it broke my heart so, I somehow ended up inviting him over to have dinner with us.

Surprisingly, he agreed.

I was just about to open the door when Grandma pulled me back by the hand.

"Nu uh hun, I'm openin' the door."

Gee, same ol' nanna. She does that whenever someone new is introduced to the family.
