1 (Phil's POV)

I woke up to a ray of sunlight in my eyes, I looked over at the clock, it was 6:45. I had to get ready fast in order not to be late to work. I got up slowly and walked into the kitchen, where I found Dan at the table eating cereal.
"Good morning, Dan." I said sleepily.
"Morning." he replied, "Don't you have to be at work in like, 15 minutes?"
"Yeah, I should probably get ready."
I walked into my room, got dressed and freshened up, then I was off to work. Even though I didn't really enjoy my job all that much, it payed for the house and it payed for all of Dan's needs, and that's really all that matters to me at the moment.

I pulled into the driveway, glad to see my home once again after 8 hours of boring work. I got out of my car and headed towards the house, there was no sound coming from inside, not even the TV...strange. I unlocked the door, Dan wasn't in the living room, which you could see as soon as you walked in, where he usually was. He's probably just taking a shower or something, thought to myself. I set my things down and walked towards my room. All the lights were off in the hallway, only one light was on, which was coming from my bedroom's bathroom. I slowly crept into there, my heart racing, things weren't usually like this when I came home, in fact, this had never happened before. I looked into the bathroom, it took me a few seconds to process what I was looking at, and as soon as I managed to realise what it was, my heart sank. On the bathroom floor was an unconscious Dan, pills scattered all around him.
"DAN!" I screamed in horror.
He didn't respond, I felt his wrist,
no pulse.
