Your presence vanishes

to and fro, a wisp of

smoke,

gone by the wind.

So why call me greedy, when

you always leave me

wanting for more?

You listen and nod, looking normal,

but I see your eyes,

going this way and that, like

the flick of a hand.

So why call me jealous, when

you never truly understand,

because you're too busy

looking at someone else?

You tell me to shine,

but don't you realize that

all stars explode one day?

So why call me bitter, when

you don't notice that

I've spent my whole life

trying to pretend?

You were her shield.

While you sat in the front line, she

slipped a w a y.

So why call me distrusting, when

every night, I see her play

with another toy?

You said you cared,

I said to sit in my tree then.

I saw you with my dead eyes

sit in her tree when you thought

I wasn't looking.

Someone I knew told me that

actions speak louder than words.

So call me sad, since

his actions told me, that

I just

didn't

matter,

anymore.
