A/N: Sorry this took so long to get out! I've just moved to college and am busy with marching band camp for 12 hours a day. Lately all I've had time to get out is the daily challenge but things should calm down in a week or so and I'll be back to a more normal writing schedule. I swear that I'll start crunching out my backlog of prompts soon!

Prompt: Love your blog! (especially the Jason imagines cause I'm Jay trash) Any chance you could write one where Jay and the reader were boyfriend/girlfriend before he died, and then he turns up at her door a few years later? And it's all fluffy and cute? ❤ (requested by)

Jason was your first boyfriend and your first love. You loved him so goddamn much that it hurt. The two of you used to stay up late at night talking about a future together. How the two of you would eventually get stable jobs, a place to call your own and maybe even get married one day. Life with Jason was picture fucking perfect or it was until decided to take him from you and deprive you of your future.

That was years ago. Eventually the pain dulled and you moved on with your life. It's what Jay would have wanted. Some years later you began to date again. Nothing serious but you were at least making an effort to move on.

But lately you've been questioning why you bother. You were coming home from another shitty date. You made your escape even before the entrees had come. You kicked off your heels and threw them across the room before heading into the kitchen to look for something to eat. A drink that packed a punch was much needed as well.

As you stood in the kitchen eating leftover takeout you noticed something sitting on the table in the living room. You could have sworn you just cleared that off. With a sigh you padded over to table to finish the job you apparently never finish but stopped dead in your tracks when you saw what it was that was on the table.

A single shriveled, wilting rose.

Tears started to fall freely as you remembered how you and Jason started to date.

You had been friends for years. You helped each other survive on the streets and that translated to an unbreakable bond between you two. When the two of you became teenagers you both seemed to want something more from each other. When Jason finally built up the nerve to ask you out you agreed with the exception that he had to do something for you first.

"Steal for me a dead flower from the richest sap in Gotham and I'll go out on a date with you." You proposed.

"A flower? What do you want an ugly flower for [Y/N]?" He asked.

"It's about the principal Jay!" You exclaimed. "Rich people don't keep dead stuff in their gardens. You need a challenge to prove yourself to me!" You said. He rolled his eyes but agreed to your request.

"Fine, I'll get you a stupid flower." He said. He delivered on his promise the next night. He snuck into the personal garden of Bruce Wayne and with quite a bit of effort found the one dead rose in the entire garden. He presented it to you the next time he saw you with a proud smirk.

"Oh Jay! It's absolutely hideous! You do care!" You gushed. Jason took the flower, got down on one knee and extended it out to you.

"[Y/N], will you go out on a date with me?" He asked. You beamed and nodded, throwing your arms around his neck.

"Of course!" You replied.

Every date after that Jason would continue bringing you various types of dead flowers from around the rich Gotham gardens. It had been years since you've received these flowers though. Not since Jason died. But yet here you hold one in you hands.

Tears flowed freely down your cheeks as you gingerly held the wilting rose. You were pulled out of your sorrow when your doorbell rang. You wiped the moisture from your eyes and took a moment to compose yourself to answer your door.

"Hi [Y/N]" A deep voice said hesitantly when you opened the door. You nearly passed out from the sight you saw. There Jason was standing before you with a bouquet of various dying flowers. You braced your hand against the doorframe to keep your knees from giving out.

"Jay?" You asked with tears in your eyes. You reached you hand out to touch him just to make sure that you weren't imagining him. His warm skin against you fingers dispelled that thought. You gripped his leather jacket and pulled him into your arms. He wasted no time in wrapping his arms around you and burying his face in the crook of your neck.

"You're alive?" You sobbed against him. He reflexively held you closer to him.

"I'm alive. I'm sorry." He whispered against your neck.

"Please don't leave me again." You pleaded not loosening your hold on him. If you had it your way you were never going let go again.

"Never again, I swear." He promised pulling away to frame your face with both of his hands. "I love you so fucking much [Y/N]." Jason said passionately pulling your face to meet his in a heated kiss. Your lips met and moved with his expressing your joy, grief, and longing all in one kiss.

"So fucking much, Jay" You say with passion before pulling him into another kiss while simultaneously dragging him into your apartment and closing the door.
