The sky was cloudy and dark. oh wonderful. I'm not a big fan of rain in fact I hated it,it made my hair frizzy, the air was humid,and I felt sticky. ugh. Not to mention the stupid project I was taking home to finish. The paint was still drying and it was kinda heavy. stupid sky drool! As I walked,I passed by the field. Brandon. I thought. I've had a crush on him since 5th grade. Perfect in every way,from his soft hazel eyes,dark brown hair to his well-known kindness. compared to him I was nothing,dark brown eyes and plain short Brown hair. I wasn't even nice,I was just an enthusiastic happy person.
Thinking about my crush,as the last bell of school rang. Not watching where I was going, I started walking and bumped into a wall."Hey,careful there Audrey,not thinking about him are you?"asked my best friend Jocelyn."of course not!"I replied."yeah ok,sure. well I got to go,see ya!"she walked off still laughing. Geez Audrey,now you can't even walk straight! Looking down,I shook my head and walked into something."stupid wall!"I yelled. Then the wall started laughing,"Sorry to disappoint you,but I'm not a wall."said a male voice. I froze. I looked up and flushed, It was him!"oh God!I'm so sorry I didn't see you,and I didn't mean to call you stupid or a wall!"He laughed at my reaction"no it's fine,it was my fault anyways,I should've been watching where I was going,sorry Audrey."he said flashing a smile. HE KNOWS MY NAME! I thought."No don't apologize,it was all me I'm such a klutz!" I said without thinking."well then,since we both feel at fault,I'll make it up to you by taking you to a movie or something and you can make it up by being there, sound good?"HE'S ASKING ME OUT!SOMEBODY PINCH ME! Realizing that I must look like an idiot staring at him,I looked away and said"yeah sounds great,6:00?" I was melting on the spot."yeah,see you tomorrow night!"he said walking away. Then it started to rain. Nooo! I was perfectly happy! The rain got stronger and I was cold until I felt the rain stop. I looked up in confusion only to see an umbrella. next to me was Brandon. "Now what kind of a person would I be if I let a pretty girl like you walk all alone in the rain?" I laughed. "Thanks,but you don't have t-"I slipped on the wet ground and grabbed on his arm but ended up pulling him down with me. way to go me. Groaning because that hurt, I could feel his breath on me and made the worst move to look up 'cause when I did he was looking right at me,looking better than before with water droplets hanging on his hair I blushed. then his eyes grew soft and he leaned in. Freaking out ,my breath caught and our lips met. when he pulled away,and I got up we looked in each other's eyes. "I-I'm sorry,I shouldn't have ki-"I stopped him by speaking"No,it's fine."I said softly. He simply smiled. As we walked hand in hand my project lay forgotten, just like all my worries.
Since that day, rain makes me smile.
