^Callum^

"Daddy, come ooooon! Why can't you just let us go?? It is his birthday for the Goddess's sake. He won't be here for much longer." Meelah whined to her father.

Callum chuckled at the Alpha's face as his best friend widens her eyes and pokes her pretty lips out to show off the most affective puppy pout in the history of existence.

Alpha Jonas sighed, finally caving. "Okay, okay, fine. You can go, but if something bad happens, I'm never letting you go outside again."

Meelah squeals in happiness, wrapping her slender arms around his very broad tan colored body. "Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you, Daddy!"

He rolls his eyes at his daughter, but smiles as he hugs her back while kissing her forehead. "You're welcome, my little Care Bear."

She rolls her eyes, pouting again. "Dad, you know I hate it when you call me that. I don't even like the Care Bears anymore. I haven't since I was six."

Callum scoffs at her with a smirk and a knowing look. "Oh, yeah? Then why do you have fifty seven zillion of them on your wall?"

She glares at Callum, making the two males laugh as he added, "plus the other gazillion hidden in your closet."

She groans. "Leave me alooooooone!!!" As she stomps out of the Alpha's office.

He then turns to Callum with a worried smile. "Take care of my baby girl, okay?"

I nodded. "Yes, Alpha. I'll always protect her with my life." He replies sincerely.

He nodded with a more amused smile. "Good. Now go get ready because I want you back before midnight. And let me know when you find your mate! I wanna know what she's like."

This makes him chuckle, nodding as he turns to leave before following his best friend up the stairs to her room. No one ever really goes to her room. She's barely ever in there herself, but she's always been an outgoing and outdoorsy kind of teen anyways.

"Care Bear!" He sang teasingly as he knocks on her door.

"I hate you, Callum!" She shouts back.

He gives a short amused laugh as as he enters her colorful room. He hadn't been exaggerating about the teddy bears by that much. In fact, it seemed her collection had increased by a large margin. It didn't matter if she had too many of the same one. If it was a care bear, she NEEDED it.

He shook his head in disbelief. It seemed as though every time he walked into her room. The pile of bears stacked up against her wall only got bigger.

A warm smile spread formed on his lips once he noticed Meelah's pouty face. She was such an amazing and beautiful girl. She was always happy and cheerful. She was everything to him, and lately she's all he could ever think about. It confused him for a while before he remembered his birthday was tomorrow. The day he was leaving the country; training with his older cousin.

It made him nervous, and all he could do was pray to the Goddess that she wasn't his mate.

He loves her, of course he does, but he wanted someone he didn't know so it would be fun getting to know each other. Besides, Meelah was a little sister to him and he didn't want anything to change between them. He liked things the way they were. He didn't like the idea of mating with her and having a family with his best friend, even though he knew that's what others would want. It wasn't what he wanted.

"What's the matter?"

He was suddenly pulled from his thoughts by the girl in question.

"Hmm?" He asked, looking up to see those pretty chocolate brown almond shaped eyes staring at him as she was going through her closet for something to wear.
