Acting on thought

There used to be six of us... Now I'm alone.
"You don't have to do this," he begs, shaking and gasping in pain as he leans against the parking garage wall. Tears sting my eyes as I aim the gun at him, my eyes squeeze shut.
"Do it. It's what we've both been waiting for," the voice in my head taunts. "Go on. Pull the trigger."
I hold my breath to ease my shaking and let my finger slip over the cool metal. His body smacks the concrete and a gorgeous crimson red begins to flow. Heavily. With haste. The blast rings through my ears as I fall to my knees and let the gun clatter to the ground. Tears silently streaming down my grimy cheeks, my head in my hands. My voice trembles as I utter in disbelief of him being able to tempt me again. No.
"Come on love," a shadowy figure coos as he pulls me up, "who have to go. One more left and it'll be over."
We leave his body, no reason to move it. He's practically unidentifiable; teeth and fingerprints removed. I could feel them in my hoodie pocket. No one ever finds them.
I follow him with my head hanging, his gloved hand laced with mine. His grip tightens as we keep moving. He's lying, after this one I'm still here to kill. He always has a way to keep me going, another pretty little lie to feed his puppet. She's the last one though. That much is true. We already know where she is. I could finally end this torture. It wouldn't take long. I grin.
She's running. Her breathing heavy. I'm right on her tail. Soon. She makes a wrong turn. Deadend. I can see her. Her body racked with fear. Sliding to the damp ground, she covers her face and begins to beg for her life. Just like all the others. It's pathetic.
"Don't cry," I coo, mimicking the shadows kind tone, "I'll make it quick."
She cries harder. Shaking like a leaf as I cock the gun. Grinning, I take aim. The man's laughing. A simple kill this last time. No need for convincing.
With the gun barrel pushing against her chest I mock, "I'd never leave you. We're friends. Promise nothing'll change?"
Bang!
Feeling my head meet the concrete with a nice thud, I watch as everything drains black. His shoes tapping the ground as he paces in the alleyway.
"Want to keep playing Kid? Or shall we finish our game? I could kill you off right now... If that's what you want," his voice spilling venom.
His questions are always rhetorical, he has already made his choice. His thoughts and ideas are always meaningless or at least those said aloud. I've never had a option, never had a choice.
He stops, "Decisions, decisions" he briefly pauses, "I think I'll keep you for another round. At least until we get caught. Might leave you in the dumps then."
As my eyes readjust I see his outreached hand and a sharp, toothy smile. His features soft and honest. A twisted man who's well know for his infamy.
"What do you say love?"
      Always.
I grasp his hand and hastily take his offer. Farther from reality, from my sanity than ever before. He, without fail, knows my answer. His toothy smile turns into a wicked grin as he watches me throw everything away. Just for him.
