I have never been the type to try and grab the spotlight.
We were at a revel with some rebels on a hot night
laughin' at my sister as she's dazzling the room
You were the middle sister of the three Schuyler sisters. Yes, you were (Y/n) Schuyler and your father was Philip Schuyler and your sisters were Liv and Hanji Schuyler. You were at a party that your father hosted and you were laughing at your older sister Liv dancing around. You heard the door open and saw a man with steel eyes walk in. You swore you looked helpless. You grabbed Liv by the arm and she looked at you.
"What is it (Y/n)??" She asked.
You pointed to the man and whispered,"This ones mine."
My sister made her way across the room to you (Oooh)
and I got nervous, thinking
"What's she gonna do?" (Oooh)

"My sister." Liv replied
"Levi Ackerman." He smiled
"Thank you for your service." You said knowing that the people who came here were part of the revolution
"If it takes a war for us to meet it would have been worth it." He said
"I'll leave you to it!" Liv said walking back to the man she was previously talking to.

One week later
I'm writin' a letter nightly
Now my life gets better, every letter that you write me

You were laying on your bed love struck, holding Levi's letter against your chest with Liv smiling and shaking her head sitting next you.

Two weeks later

You were trying not to cry while Levi asked your father for your hand in marriage. While your father stood up you shook Liv by her shoulders and by the look on her face she looked very terrified.
My father makes his way across the room to you
I panic for a second, thinking

But then he shakes your hand and says

And you turn back to me, smiling, and I'm

You smiled and ran to Levi jumping into his arms. He lifted you and spin you around. For a small man he was very strong. At the corner of your eyes you saw Liv smiling at you giving you thumbs up while Hanji was jumping with joy. He put you down and kneeled onto one knee.
"(Y/n), I don't have a dollar to my name an acre of land, a troop to command, a dollop of fame all I have's my honor, a tolerance for pain, a couple of college credits and my top-notch brain. Insane, your family brings out a different side of me
Hanji confides in me, Liv tried to take a bite of me,"
You turned to your left to see Hanji blank faced and Liv blushing in embarrassment but you gave her a forgiving face which returned to her smiling at you.
"No stress, my love for you is never in doubt,we'll get a little place in Harlem and we'll figure it out.I've been livin' without a family since I was a child my father left, my mother died, I grew up buck wild, but I'll never forget my mother's face, that was real and long as I'm alive, (Y/n), swear to God
