"You can have my crackers." He throws the plastic bag at Phil who takes them happily and munches on the crunchy crackers that he pops into his mouth.

Dan gets back to reading his book and Phil reads over his shoulder. "Shakespeare is very romantic. Maybe we should kiss."

"If I were to have my first kiss, it would to be someone less desperate." Dan tells him, keeping his eyes fixed on the words printed on the pages.

"I'm not desperate." Phil pouts as he pops another cracker in his mouth. "I just want a kiss is that to much to ask?"

"Yes now shut up before I walk out."

"I'll follow you."

"You're creeping me out Phil can you just leave?" Dan asks, gritting his teeth and glaring at Phil.

"I can stop creeping you out but I won't leave." The bell rings and Phil sighs. "Okay, may be I'll leave and go to class, but I'm going to your house today." He sits up and stretches his arms. "So be ready Howell, the friendship forming between us is just beginning."

"I don't get American football." Phil states, his legs resting on Pj's lap and the rest of him cuddled into Dan who was trying to ignore Phil running his fingers threw his brown hair.

"Phil, we're were literally talking about how we hate maths what does this have anything to do with anything?" Pj asks with a laugh.

"Well I was just thinking," Phil's starts, removing his fingers from Dan's hands to gesture with his hands. "It's really just big burly men in helmets running into each other, breaking each other even, and for what? Inflated pig skin! It's ridiculous!"

"In all honestly," both of them look surprise as Dan adds to the conversation. "It's pretty much rugby with a lot of equipment and Americans." He returns his gaze to the window. "Play anything by the band Fun." He whispers and a tune automatically starts to play in his head.

"What did you say after the rugby thing?" Phil asks, running his fingers throw Dan's hair to push it back.

"Nothing." He swats Phil's hand away.

"Alrighty then." Phil snuggles closer to Dan so his head is on Dan's shoulder. "You're cozy." He purrs.

"Thanks?"

Beep, beep beep

Dan inhales threw his nose and exhales threw his mouth. His breathes are deep and slow which makes both Pj and Phil wonder what's going on.

"What was beeping sound?" Pj and Phil ask at the same time.

"Nothing just keep your nose in your own business!" Dan snaps, making Pj stiffen and Phil sit up a little form his position in Dan's lap.

"Sorry." Phil apologizes and hugs Dan tightly. The brunette just grunts but melts into the warm feeling of being embraced.

Beep

Dan pushes Phil away and stares out the window, avoiding the confused looks from the two teens he was sharing a seat with.

Dear Mrs.Lester,

It seems Phil is getting better in therapy! From what he tells me his panic attacks have been less frequent since he moved schools and I do a scar check on his arms every time he visits and no new marks have been made! His scars are healing nicely but he still refuses to wear short sleeves, which I understand since he doesn't want his new school to think he's some depressed needy kid like ignorant teens usually do. However that shouldn't be something to be worried about! I'm just touching base to make sure life at home seems to be good and if he's happy when out of my care.

Lots of love,

Misty

"That's just so cute isn't it? A mother tiger losing all her cubs to premature labour and then became depressed so her health declined. Then seeing how her health was declining because of it they wrapped little baby pigs in tiger print jacket things and she treated them like her own cubs! How cute! Of course her health got back to normal afterwards since she was happy. Isn't that fantastic?" Phil's head rested on Dan stomach as he was supposedly reading a book they had read earlier in the year while Dan read threw emails on his laptop that was resting on his chest.

"Mhm." Dan hums, scrolling threw his laptop.

"Were you even paying attention?"

"Tiger, depressions, baby pigs in tiger print jackets." Dan summarises. "So yes, sadly I was paying attention." He tells Phil. "Take a picture and save to file Phil Lester." He whispers to himself.

"What was that?" Phil asks.

"Nothing, I didn't say anything." Dan lies.

"Of course you said something. I can feel the muffled sound of your voice. Hey maybe I can hear your heart threw your stomach." Phil says excitedly as he turns onto his side to press his ear to Dan's stomach.

"No!" Dan acts quickly, closing his laptop and pushing Phil's head away from his stomach so he can't try to hear his heart beat, or rather, heart beep.

"There's something off about you Dan." Phil sighs as he slowly lays his head back on Dan's stomach with his ear facing away from Dan's stomach so he isn't able to hear his heart beap.

"Isn't there something off about us all though? No one is perfect it's just life, those who think their perfect are just snobs who will learn later on in life that they're not happy." Dan absent mindedly runs his fingers threw Phil's black hair.

"You actually said something reasonable." Phil chuckles and holds his book over his head to read it. "Do I have to read the whole thing?" Phil asks as he stares at the printed words that seem to drift off the pages.

"Well, as long as you get the important details of it, we're going to be having a test on it." Dan informs him.

"I'll just watch the movie and read a summary." Phil shrugs and closes the book. "Anything else for English?" He asks.

"Yeah but I have a feeling your bored of that subject."

Phil chuckles. "You know me to well Danny."

"It's just Dan."

"Alright Danny Dan." Phil's lips curl into a smirk as he looks up at Dan's bored stare. "Do you ever smile? Or laugh?"

"I smile and laugh when I'm happy." Dan explains, looking away from Phil and glueing his gaze to the ceiling.

"You aren't happy?"

"Is it that hard to figure that out?" Dan shakes his head but continues when Phil doesn't contribute to the conversation. "I'm more content then happy really. I'm content with how my life is going and my family life, but I'm not happy with existing."

"Then we have something in common." Phil changes his position so his head is laying on Dan's chest.

"You don't like existing?"

"Well, it has its pros and cons. Everyone knows that. But I keep going in the hopes that I can maybe find something to make it all seem worth it." Phil explains, using his hands to gesture as he usually does.

"Why are you always so optimistic?"

"Because if I wasn't you'd have no one to balance you out Dan." Phil looks up at him and embraces him in a tight hug. Dan reluctantly returns the hug and surprisingly doesn't try and push Phil away when he kisses his cheek.

The hug feels nice which worries Dan. Seems like Phil might actually win this bet.
