Chapter One: How Did this happen?

My mother shook her head back and forth at what should of been the happiest news of my life. "How could you let this happen Alessica?"

Like me she was a tiny willowy woman, with thick dark brown hair that was-now-coiled in a bun atop her head. Although, where mine held blonde highlights, hers had already begun to gray.

"I didn't let anything happen." I raised my hands in exasperation, waving them slightly to get my point across.

Mom wasn't having any of it, "I thought I taught you better than to give your cookie to somebody that didn't intend to marry you."

"Ma, I can give my cookie to anybody that I want to. It just so happens that I decided to give it to somebody that really did not deserve it." I cringed at the use of the sweet to describe my vágina.

She shook her head and muttered choice curse words, "Jy is net..." A deep sigh fell from her lips and she took a seat at the island.

(You are just)

"I know, I know." I sat down next to her, resting my head on her shoulder.

Mom ran a hand through my hair, "He really is as dom as I was hoping that he wouldn't be, for listening to those stuck up parents of his."

(Stupid)

It was my turn to sigh, except now in agreement. "Do you think I would make a good mother?" I asked, slightly worried about the answer.

"You will have to be, from now on your life revolves around your little one."

I nodded my head, a hand rested on my slightly bulged stomach-not from pregnancy, yet. Just good food so far, I could only imagine when the baby actually started to show.

"Yeah, I can not wait to meet them."

__--__

Despite it being summer in Cape Town, as usual the weather was completely bipolar. The rain fell down heavily on my small figure, as I tried to dodge multiple taxis and vendors. I pulled my light weight jacket closer around my body to try and stop the little bit of heat from escaping.

Never mind the fact that Griffin had subtracted himself from our equation. Exactly a month and a bit ago.

Slowly things were starting to become even more real and I truly could not be any happier.
Having just finished my first doctors appointment, I was even more excited than I had been since, well, ever. I'm at about two and a half months and my babies were about the size of a cherry.
The doctor confirmed, I was not only having one, but two little ones.

Besides running late for work again, my spirits were high, never mind who my boss was and his feelings towards the situation.
With no time to spare I ran as fast as my five inch heels would allow for and ducked into the office.

"How did the appointment go?" Bernadine asked, her gorgeous dark locks styled in a high ponytail-which helped to accentuate a beautiful bone structure.

Grabbing a bottled water, I sat down in my cubicle next to my best friend. "Everything so far is going perfectly and I got to hear their heartbeat again, I can't believe I'm almost three months again." Despite the situation needing as much discretion possible, I couldn't help gushing over my babies and their development.

"What do you mean by their?"

"It seems that I have not only one bun in the oven, but two." I softly exploded, joy once again filling my being.
