Tyler and Josh have been talking to each other for 5 months or so now. This lost and scared boy across the street has become one of Tyler's good friends. Maybe even best friend. They text almost every single night as they both fall asleep. Tyler now looks forward to the bus so he can see Josh. He looks forward to English. All because of.. Josh..
Tyler finishes his cereal and dashes out of the door to catch the bus like every other day. Only now he grabs his basketball. He made the varsity Basketball Team and must bring his own basketball everyday. If he forgot it. Who knows what the punishment would be. Tyler didn't want to figure out.
Tyler sluggishly Steps on the bus like he always does. But when he sees the little pink haired boy in the back on his phone It makes him smile and he isn't sluggish anymore. He's. Happy.
Tyler walks to the back of the bus and sits next to Josh. Of course. Like he does. Always.
"Hey Ty." Josh says smiling taking his earbuds out. "I missed you over the weekend. Why weren't you answering my texts?"
Tyler starts to play with his hoodie string. "I'm really sorry I didn't answer your texts Josh. My family had some issues."
Josh looks at him and he plasters a facial expression Tyler has never seen before.
"I'm sorry.. I didn't mean to make you-"
"It's okay. It's just... My mom has been slacking off in work and she's about to lose her job. My parents were pretty much fighting the whole weekend and I just have been in a down mood."
Josh looks up at Tyler and holds his hand. Holding hands for Tyler and Josh isn't weird.
It's a way of showing comfort or that they are there for each other.
"I'm sorry Tyler.. I wish I never asked about the texts.."
Tyler looks up at Josh and puts a hand through his hair.
"No. No. I'm actually happy you asked. I wanted to tell you all weekend. Because. Your like the only person I care about."
Josh wraps his arms around Tyler's body pulling him in for a hug. Tyler hugs back.
"Thank you. I really needed this." Tyler says smiling trying to hold back his tears.
"I know. That's why we are doing it." Josh replies.
Josh and Tyler remain silent the whole bus ride. Just looking at their phones and listening to their own Music genres.
The bus reaches the school and lets Tyler and Josh off.
"I've been failing my classes. I've been putting my homework off." Tyler tells Josh when they both take their last step off the bus.
"What?" Josh asks.
"Yeah.. I just can't stop thinking about you each night and I put my homework off.."
Josh looks at Tyler wide eyed. Small tears begin to form in Josh's eyes.
"Tyler, why haven't you told me.. I'm ruining your education? I'm ruining your education! Tyler why haven't you told me?! I'm ruining your life! Your basketball career! Your family! I'm the reason!"
Josh storms off crying softly hoping nobody would hear him. But people were already looking at him after he shouted at Tyler. Everyone would look at Tyler then back at Josh.
Tyler raced inside the school and into the bathroom and sat on the floor and cried.
He wish he could tell him that Josh wasn't the reason for all of his problems. For every little thing that goes wrong in his life it isn't Josh's fault. Josh puts way too much pressure on himself and always thinks its his fault and it really took a toll on Tyler and his emotions.

Luckily.. Nobody was in the bathroom and Tyler had his space to cry to himself. He lets the streams of tears file down his cheek. He'd say things under his breath softly hoping maybe it would help. But it really didn't. It would just make the flow of tears rush faster.
"It isn't your fault Josh. It really isn't. I wish you'd just shut up and know that it isn't always your fault. You know it isn't." Tyler said under his breath.
"I wish you knew I cared about you so much. I wish you knew." Tyler continued to say softly.
The first period bell rang. He heard loud foot steps outside the restroom door. Tyler walked up to the mirror and saw his cheeks and eyes. His cheeks a screaming pink and his eyes a dark red. In other words. Pretty awful. He knew he couldn't go to first period. So he skipped it. And hummed little things to himself. To make things not seem so bad.

~~~~
Tyler luckily got his self together again and got to second period and carried on the rest of the day. Just because he's treading through today doesn't mean he's doing great. He's feeling awful. The anxiety in his stomach builds up as the day continues. Scared of fourth period. Scared of English. Scared of. Josh.
Tyler approaches the English 1 door and puts his hand out to open it but pulls away. He feels a light tap on his shoulder. Startled he flicks around. He looks at the person who tapped on his shoulder and he calms down. It's Josh.
"Josh...." Tyler says worried but relieved he can finally talk to him.
"Ty... I ugh-" Josh says feeling the same.
"I'm so sorry!" Tyler blurts out running to Josh for a hug. "I'm so sorry." Tyler says speaking into Josh's shirt.
Josh smiles hugging tightly back. "Ty. It's okay."
Tyler backs away from the hug and looks up at Josh. "After you shouted at me this morning, I ran to the restroom and cried. I hummed little things to try and feel better but it made me feel worse. I was so upset I missed first period and I couldn't stop thinking about you and I had so many things to say."
Josh turns around and sees the empty, quiet halls. No children shuffling to their classes. No teachers watching. No fights taking place. Nothing was happening. It was just Tyler and Josh. Nothing could ruin anything between them. It was just. Them.
Josh looks at Tyler's Magnificat brown eyes. His beautiful brunet hair, his red lips, his soft pink cheeks. Josh wraps his arms around Tyler. Tyler looks at Josh's eyes. Sees his beautiful features. Everything that was perfect about Josh. Everything he loved about Josh.
Tyler tilts his forehead against Josh's forehead. Their lips only centimeters away. Josh grabs Tyler's waist very tight, "Beautiful boy." Josh says. Tyler's cheeks tinted a darker pink. Tyler cupped his hands around Josh's neck. Josh clenched Tyler's waist tighter. Tight enough to leave a mark. "Josh.." Tyler hums. "Your so pretty."
Josh can't hold off any longer. He can't wait any longer. He crashed his lip against Tyler's. Josh can feel every crevice in Tyler's lip. Tyler doesn't pull back. He goes in for it. Tyler can taste Josh's sweet lips. It was almost like icing.
The kiss was a very long extended one. One that was delayed for far too long.
Josh finally backs away and takes another long
look into Tyler's eyes. "I can't handle how pretty you are."
Tyler puts a hand through Josh's hair.
"Your beautiful."
Josh digs his hands into Tyler's waist. Now surely leaving a bruise. Josh pulls Tyler against his chest. Josh begins to kiss Tyler's neck. Tyler lets him kiss him a few times before he begins to feel teeth and backs away.
"Alright now Josh we are in school." Tyler says embarrassed.
Josh looks around and feels his heart drop. "Oh yeah.. I forgot.." Josh then glances around Tyler's shoulder and sees his English class.
"I made you miss first and forth period.. Maybe I am a distraction.."
Tyler rubs Josh's shoulder. "If you were a distraction I'd stop it, you aren't a distraction I promise."
Josh smiles and his cheeks turn and shade darker.
Suddenly the bells rings and students fled the halls again. It wasn't just them two anymore.
It
was
everyone.
