Rosella Lawrence was no stranger to the streets of Brooklyn, in fact, she was a product of the place. She was born there and by the way her life was going, she'd die in the damned city.

She led a normal life—  as normal as life could get in Brooklyn. She lived with her mother, her father not present in their lives considering he walked out before Rosella had even made it out of the womb. She attended the local high school and held a small job with her best friend, Simon Lewis.

She had been hopelessly in love with the quirky nerd since the two had first met. She loved everything about Simon Lewis; from his obsession with comic books to his weird puns. Yet, something, more like someone, came with a Simon. Clary Fray. And Rosella loathed Clary. She'd never admit it, but she saw Clary as a threat. She was never blatantly mean to the girl, but Clary had sensed that she wasn't fond of her very early on.

Things were normal for her, She loved Simon and hated Clary. That is until her crush's crush turns 18 and she is sent into a whirlwind of mythical creatures and hot guys. Her feelings towards a specific quirky human don't change, yet she is thrown for a loop when she begins feeling something for an emotionless, rule following Shadowhunter.

She faces problems with her love life all while fighting for the lives of her new friends and accepting the supernatural world that has suddenly enveloped her.
