Lost

Chapter 1

She was running, running as fast as she could, every step she took her heart pounded more and more, faster and faster until she couldn't run anymore. Panting and wheezing she couldn't catch her breath, stumbling against a tree she fell, defeated tears rolled down her delicate cheeks. Deep down there was still some fight left in her but she knew she couldn't defeat him, he was too strong. He came to where she had stumbled, he grabbed something long and thick crack, snap,crack.. Mia woke up, sweat pouring down her hair and dripping onto her forehead, her PJs were soaking wet and she felt greasy and horrible. The youngster looked at her clock, it was 2:00 o'clock in the morning, She hopped out of her dirty, ragged and uncomfortable mattress with nothing much of a tatty, old blanket and half a pillow she sleepily dragged herself to the bathroom. Turning the taps on, icy cold water came bulging out of the hole. Sighing she trailed downstairs into the kitchen. Opening a cupboard she saw emptiness; just like the house and everything else in her life. Groaning, she opened the fridge to see nothing short of a mouldy apple and gone off milk, slamming the fridge door she sat down on the antique chair, which fell through when she sat on it, there she stayed on the hard, brick floor as a single tear rolled down her cheek and hit the floor with a splash. Why is my life like this?! The teary girl thought.
There was nothing to have for breakfast so she thought whats the point, I never have any food in the morning anyway. She sluggishly sauntered up the crumbling stairs, she froze at the top oh shoot my bath! She raced down the hall and rapidly entered the bathroom, the bath was overflowing with icy cold water that soaked Mia's feet, she shivered because of the coldness, quickly she reached for the taps and turned them clockwise; the water stopped.
