Two men in business suits standing in front of Anges De La Mort Magasin De Costumes. They had stood there, still and silently for ten minutes.
"Elle devrait être là maintenant," the man on the right said.
"Patience , mon frère," the man on the left said,"Elle sera ici."
They waited another five minutes before they spotted her. A tall blonde with green eyes in a blue suit. A girl and a boy in similar suits trailed behind her. All three of them were on the other side of the street from the men in black suits.
The girl in front was Sarah Éventreur, one of the core generals of The Lambeaux, a vicious, huge group of hired men and women who only line of work was killing. The two men in black suits were Alexi and Axeli Karkaov, hired men by the Lambeaux rival gang, The Enfers. They were to eliminate Sarah Éventreur, as she played a key role in The Lambeaux.
Alexi and Axeli followed close behind the trio as the walked down Route De La Mort, presumably on their way to Dixième Rue for a meeting of the generals. The trio stopped at a stoplight and Alexi and Axeli crossed the street. Axeli had just put his foot on the pavement of the other side of the street when a shot rang out into the air. A .50 caliber bullet cut through Axeli's chest. Blood coated the pavement as Axeli fell. Alexi yelled and drew an FN Browning pistol and raised it to fire at the trio, but Sarah knocked it out of his hand with a kick to his wrist. Her right bodyguard, Sarah's older brother Enzo, grabbed the gun from the pavement and handed it to Sarah. Alexi sat on his knees, waiting for the right moment to strike. Sarah aimed the gun at his head, but as an afterthought, handed the gun to her sister, Monique, who stood on her left. Monique was a young girl, 24 or so, with Sarah's blonde hair and two different colored eyes, her left was gray, and her right was green. She had only recently joined the Lambeaux, convinced by Enzo.
"Tirer sur lui, Monique." Sarah said as she handed the Browning to Monique.
"Dois je?" Monique asked as she accepted the gun with shaky hands.
"Oui, vous devez. Lui et son frère a essayé de nous faire du mal," Sarah said, staring hard at Alexi, "Il ne peut pas vivre ."
"Obtenez plus d'avec , Monique," Enzo muttered through clenched teeth.
Monique raised the gun and pointed it at Alexi's head. She didn't want to, but she knew she must. Her finger squeezed the trigger and Alexi's head was blown back. He crumpled to the floor, a small hole in his forehead.
"Bon travail , soeur," Sarah said, taking the gun from her sisters trembling hands,"Je ferai en sorte que les Lambeaux savent de votre bravoure."
And with that, she turned and started walking down Route De La Mort, Enzo following in her footsteps. Monique took one last look at the Karkaov brothers, lying dead in the street, before sprinting to catch up with Sarah and Enzo.
