There are a few more details you can add to a character.
Relationships- who are they related to, are they married, etc.
Sexuality- not every character has to be straight! Decide if you want a homo, pan, ace, etc. character.
Pets- not everyone lives without a pet. From a couple of fish to a cat, someone may have one.
The area around them- where do they live? The desert, the forest, or the bottom of the ocean?
