"Oh, it's just a phase." "You don't know what you want." "You're just experimenting." These phrases are often said to young teen when they question their sexuality.
LGBT teens are often told these things because parents don't want their kids to be that way. Back in the parents day and age, being gay, lesbian, or transgender wasn't something easily accepted. If you were one of these ways, you kept it secret, or tried to ignore it.
Nowadays, being gay, lesbian, or transgender is just as accepted as having different skin tone. Teens these days ignore those qualities in people and makes friends with people because of who they are.
Even so, one little teenager struggles with trying to find herself and accept herself for who she is.
This story follows Desarae Riley Flynn. A teen who has trouble finding who she really wants to be.
