I stood in line next to one of the most shortest people in the survey corps, shorter than Armin, shorter than Captain Levi himself, and maybe an inch taller than Krista, (m/n) (l/n), my Shota boyfriend, his thick messy (h/c) hair and those intoxicating (e/c) orbs that hold emotion, but today...
Today was different.
Today, he lost his squad.
Yes, it is true, (m/n) is a squad leader, his skills are matched with Levi's, yet (m/n) is younger than that old man, today his eyes held no emotion, for the fact that he lost the people that were like family towards him, his parents died, his brothers and sisters, dead...
Their all gone.
After Commander Erwin, finished his speech everyone left, but him, I walked over towards (m/n) and heard quiet sobs, tears streaming down his face, "Ech...they...didnt....deserve...TO DIE!! THEY DIDN'T DESERVE TO! I WAS TO LATE! I COULD HAVE--" I hugged the suffering male and he put his hands on my shoulders and knees went limp, melting like putty in my arms, I rubbed his back picking him up, his legs straddling my waist and his arms rapped around my neck, as if I the world was ending, he tried to hold back sobs as I told him something that he's told me before,
"We meet but briefly in life, if we touch each other with stardust.." I said waiting for him to complete the sentance, "- that is everything." His soft voice muffled by him putting his forehead on my shoulder, I heard footsteps and I shoot my head up seeing Mikasa, I set (m/n) down and he put his hands to the side of his tiny body clenching his fist, Mikasa grabbed his shoulders, turning him around.
"Life isn't about waiting to the storm to pass; it's about learning to dance in the rain." She said, Eren and Armin walked up, and so did the whole survey corps,
"What the caterpillar calls the end of the world, the master calls a butterfly." Eren told.
"The most authentic thing about us is our capacity to create, to over come, to endure, to transform, to love and be greater than out suffering." Armin completed,
"That is everthing!" Everybody shouted, (m/n) shoot his head up tears streaming down his face as his lips parted slightly, "That is everything.." He uttered under his breath as everyone saluted and he turned around towards me and I was already saluting, He smiled at me and hugged me, he left go and waved off everyone's salutes and ran towards then crushing everybody in a group hug, he looked back at me and winked, smiling a sad smile, but yet, his eyes were filled with emotion.
Once more.
That is everything..
