"And don't forget that you are staying at your father's and he will pick you up after school."
"Yes, mum, I know."
"Goodbye Cassie!" Screeched Melany, who had unbuckled her seat belt and was leaning over the front seat to give Cassie a sloppy, big kiss on her cheek.
"Yeah goodbye Mel." Mumbled Cassie whilst wiping the her cheek with the back of her sleeve.
Cassie's mother had just dropped her off at school and Cassie groaned at the chatter coming from within the yellow school gates.
Cassie took a deep breath and gave a final wave back to her mother and Melany before walking through the gates.
She immediately spotted her friends who always hung out by the front gates before the bell rang for tutor.
"Cassie! You won't believe who messaged me last night!" Began Kelsey.
Kelsey was Cassie's best friend. They did everything together, they were inseparable. Kelsey isn't average, she isn't ugly and she isn't pretty... She is flawless! Her hair is long and light brown, she has gorgeous glowing eyes and flawless skin. Cassie had always thought the world of Kelsey. She was perfect inside out.
"Oh I don't know..." Cassie started sarcastically. "Calum?" Cassie finished with a slight grimace.
Cassie hated Calum. Calum was Kelsey's... Boyfriend? Lover? Crush? Who knows. Cassie just thought he was a huge jerk.
Cassie frowned slightly as she remembered all the times that Kelsey would FaceTime her crying her eyes out because Calum would of "messed her around."
"Look Cas, I know that you and him aren't exactly best buddies..." Kelsey began.
Cassie scoffed.
"But hey! this might change your mind!"
Kelsey gave her phone to Cassie. Cassie scrolled through Kelsey and Calum's chat on Facebook and cringed at all the hearts at kisses that were put at the end of each sentence. Thank god there wasn't any "Rawr means I love you in dinosaur." Because if there was, Cassie was pretty sure that she'd throw up.
Still frowning, Cassie gave Kelsey's phone back to her.
"Look, I know what you are thinking Cas, and honestly he has changed."
"How many times have we heard that before Kel?"
"Okay listen. He gets one more chance okay if he messes that up then I will give him up, okay?"
Cassie sighed "Fine."
The bell rang signalling that it was time for form tutor.
"Come on now Cas, cheer up!" Kelsey said flashing a perfect toothy smile as she linked arms with Cassie. "It's time to face the world!"
