plugging in my headphones, I started to zone out, looking through the window and blurring the fast moving hills

everything looked the same. a light, blank sky empty of possibilities. dry fields of grass, changing gold and brown hues according to the sun. the occasional cow or two away from its herd, seeking water.
water. I thought, im so thirsty. but looking out again I realized earth was thirsty too, undoubtedly parched.
trying to refrain from swallowing, I continued to focus on my music.
