"Callista!!!!!!!!!!"

I nearly fell off my bed when my sister barged into my room, interrupting what was the best dream I've had in a long while.

"What do you want Lizzy?" I say, voice cracking from dry morning breath.

"You're gonna be late for work and we're out of milk." The 13 year olds curls bounced as she jumped on my bed.

My eyes widened and the panic set in as my mind realized the truth to my little sister's words.

I zoomed out of bed and into my closet. I grabbed the nearest work dress I could find and slipped on my ballet flats- all while managing a brush through the tangled mess of ginger that once was my hair.

I grabbed my laptop and phone, and ran out the door.

"Don't forget the milk!!!" Lizzy yelled out the window when I made it outside.

I threw her up a thumbs up and headed to the bus stop.

The crisp autumn air gave the cool breeze a slight chill as I walked into the TonyaAlisha Publishing building.

I smiled as I entered the glass doors of the tall skyscraper.

If you would've asked me a year ago if I'd be working here, I would've probably laughed in your face. But sometimes with a little hard work and elbow grease, you will be surprised by the outcome.

I ran up to the elevator, dreading the possibility of my tardiness.

I hate being late more than anything- like literally anything.

Just when I thought I was in the clear I heard a familiar silence grow behind me meaning only one thing... the grey haired demon with the navy blue pantsuit aka my boss stood beside me. I stood straight ahead praying she didn't realize how late I was.

Soon startled by the ding of the elevator door bell I entered into the tiny space with the neo- Miranda Priestly. I plastered a grin on my face as the metal doors closed the tiny space.

A/N:
Hello!
This is my very first story that I've published on Wattpad. I started it about two years ago in my junior year of high school and I'm currently in the process of reworking it to fit a more realistic idea.
I'm so excited to share this story with you all! Like, comment, and vote!

Kamaryn :)
