We were in the Moon Pool, trying to figure out our next move.

"What's the plan?" I ask

"Plan for what?" Mimmi adds

"To change Evie back," Sirena says, "we can't leave her a mermaid."

"She's not a mermaid," Ondina says, "and she never will be."

"She still has a tail." I argue.

"That's not our problem."

"We need to stay focused on Zac," Mimmi says, changing the subject.

"Can't you see how hard this is for Evie?" Sirena asks, "Maybe you haven't noticed, but land people are around water all the time. They drink it, they wash their clothes in it,"

"Well, that's just silly." Ondina interrupts.

"Wherever Evie goes, she's at risk now."

"Every time she touches water, she'll transform." I add

"It's hard enough for Zac to keep his tail a secret. Do you want to give Evie the same problem?" Sirena asks us.

"Sirena's right. We should help her." Mimmi says.

"If you couldn't remove Zac's tail on a full moon, how are we supposed to turn Evie back?" Ondina asks "Anyway, like Mimmi said, Zac is the focus. Evie's low priority."

"Do you think she'd be a high priority if the Mermaid Council found out what you've done?" I ask.

"There is no need for the Council to know."

"You were the ones who changed her, now you have to change her back." Sirena says.

"Actually, there is something that we could try." Mimmi says.

"What is it?" I ask

"You and Sirena head back to the Grotto, We'll meet you there after we talk to Evie, then I'll show you."

Sirena and I gave each other a look before leaving the Moon Pool and torpedoing back to the Grotto.

"You think she has a plan?" I ask

Sirena nods, "Maybe they're talking to Evie so they can bring her here."

"And then we try and change her back. Where would she be?"

"Probably at the cafe. She has a shop there."

"Maybe I should go too, make sure they stay out of trouble."

"Be careful."

"Will do." With that, I dived back into the sea entrance and torpedoed to the cafe. After I got out and dried off, I found Ondina sitting at a table, so I joined her. "Hey," I say.

"What are you doing here?" she asks, "Did Sirena send you?"

"I sent myself. How are things going with Evie?"

"Mimmi's inside, talking to her."

"Hope it goes well."

Some time later, the cute guy from yesterday came over to us. "Hey, it's the coconut smoothie girls, what can I get you?"

"We don't want anything," Ondina says.

"We have some terrific specials, homemade right here."

"No,"

"Do you have any idea how inadequate this makes me feel as a waiter?"

"Not our problem."

"Not your problem," I say. "Sorry about her."
