Today was a big day. One that I'd remember forever. I was four years old, and I was going to see a royal parade for the first time. As an excitable little unicorn filly, this was a major event. For the first time in my life, I would be able to see the royal family with my own eyes. It would also be the first time Princess Pristine would be shown in public since her birth seven years ago. I had always dreamed of meeting the princess. I had heard my parents calling her "an adorable angel" and "a perfect reflection of her kind parents." Knowing that, I ran to see the parade.
Civilians and Tourist ponies lined the streets for a chance to see the princess. Me, being little enough to wiggle my way to the front, had a perfect seat to watch the show. Performers and Several important ponies drove by on fancy floats and carriages pulled by the Royal Gaurd. I was getting bored when suddenly the grandest float of all came into view.
It seemed to be made of the finest porcelain. With elegant white towers spiraling up and lined with three elegant thrones, the float itself was a sight to behold, but the little pony in the middle was what caught everypony's eyes. The young alicorn looked like a picture of heaven. She had a silky white coat, an elegant horn, dainty wings, and a slim body. She was truly angelic.
I was amazed. She was prettier than I had imagined! As the float rolled by, I stared at the princess. Then, by some twist of fate, our eyes met. I stared at her wide eyed wondering what would happen. Would she smile at me? Would she wave? Sadly no. It was not meant to be. The princess sneered at me with disgust, and my heart sank. I guess princesses aren't always as sweet as they seem. This was the day I learned that alicorns could really suck.
