Chapter 43

An hour went past just answering questions and telling Police how this is natural for Andre to disappear for days. They urged me that if I get any calls or texts from any of Andre's friends I should inform them. I wasn't ready to bring Connor in this mess so I didn't mention him. After my interview I ran up to my room cracked open all my windows sat on my bed trying to calm my breathing down. Then there was a knock at my door. It made me jump a little but, I proceeded to answer it.
Me: Coming
I opened to see Connor standing there holding a box of chocolates and a bag of Mac D's. I didn't know what to feel, me and Connor are on getting better but, showing up at my bedroom door was such a reach
Me: What are you doing here
I tried to keep my voice down
Connor: Relax your mum knows I'm here, she let me in. I came to check up on you
Me: I didn't need you to check up on me
Connor: You sounded like you was going to throw up on the phone
Me: Well I wasn't
Connor: Woah attitude
Me: I don't understand why you are here
Connor: Can't I be worried for a friend... We are friends right?
He gave me a side smile knowing that I wouldn't turn him down because he's holding Mac d's
Me: Just get it
He chuckled
We sat on my bed talking about what we're gonna do next. Connor suggested that he goes back to the safe house to find any clues. I have to go to the warehouse that I was kidnapped in and check in there.
Connor: Are you going to be okay going to that warehouse alone?
Me: Why wouldn't I be
I said with a mouthful of fries
Connor moved a little closer to me for some reason.
Me: What are you doing
Connor: Adjusting my trousers
Me: Ohh
I look up at him and he's staring down at me, he was wearing all black today as per usual. His hair was a little wet.. Probably from taking a shower, he looks clean, his hair looks freshly cut, he shaved his stubble which enhanced his jaw line and he's looking a little more muscular then the last time I saw him.
*Ding*
I reach for my phone besides me to see I have a text message from Daniel... Of course
Connor: New boyfriend?
Me: No, just Daniel
Connor: Ahh
Me: Why do you care
Connor: I don't
Me: Good
Connor: Alexis Why are you like this
Me: Like what?
Connor: Giving me this attitude after I'm trying to get us on good terms
Me: We can never be on "good terms"
Connor: Why not?
I looked at him shocked and amazed. Has he really forgotten what he did? I can never understand why he can casually kill someone... Especially someone I loved just to make a point. Is that human? Is he human? I don't even know but, what I do know is that I can never forgive him after that.
Connor: Why can't we be in good terms Lexi?
Me: You killed my one true love
Connor looks away guiltily then he sighs
Connor: I'm sorry
Me: I'm sorry? That's all you could say? ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME RIGHT NOW!
Connor: Lexi keep your voice down
Me: IT'S TAKING EVERY CELL IN MY FUCKING BODY NOT TO KILL YOU RIGHT NOW
I pace around the room hyperventilating when Courtney walks in
Courtney: What's going on here... Lexi are you okay
I stay quiet
Connor: She's worried about Andre, give her a minute
Then Courtney leaves
After I compose myself, I get up and face Connor
Me: Leave
Connor: No
He says while standing up
Me: Connor I want you to LEAVE!
He then proceeds to storm up to my and pin me to the wall
Me: Get off of me!! What the fuck do you want man
Connor: You... I want you
I could see his muscles tensing through his shirt, I could also feel his dick bulging through his jeans, this secretly turned me on
Connor: I know what I've done to you is something that you can never come back from but, I've missed you, I've missed you so much Lexi you do not understand. When I heard you was missing back at the safe house I immediately felt guilty that it was my fault but I felt anger that I made you upset. When you said that you loved Simon it threw me off the edge. He pauses, as if to collect his thoughts
Connor: I love you Alexis Ford, not this petty, childish, immature kind of love but, the love you feel when you know you want to spend the rest of your life with someone. I am in love with you. Just believe me when I say I will do anything I can to make you happy and keep you safe. From the bottom of my heart I am truly sorry for all the pain I've caused you.
Connor is in love with me? I knew he loved me but, not in love with me. I can't help but feel shocked and shy. It feels weird, the last person that was in love with me died. I don't know if I could love anyone as much as I've loved Simon
Connor: Well?
Me: I-I don't know what to say
Connor: Say something
Me: I-ahh W-what do you want me to say
Connor: That you love me to

Me: I don't know

He places his right hand on my left cheek and strokes it. Him being this close I could smell his sent..mmm minty, how much I missed it. I look up into his eyes and he's staring at me. Slowly his face is moving closer to mine until our lips slightly touch
Me: Connor I-
Connor: -Shhh let me kiss you.... Just this once
His voice was so deep it made me melt inside. His tongue slowly enters my mouth and greets mine.
Me: Connor...I.... Can't
I'm out of breath at this point
Connor: Yes you can
He picks me up and throws me onto the bed and proceeds to climb over me still kissing me slowly and passionately.

I wake up the next day with an empty bed. Last night was.. Was... Was needed. We had sex and it felt surprisingly good, I mean Connor is good in bed but, not as good as Simon. I look around and there absolutely no trace of Connor, as if he wasn't here. Where is he? I sit up and check my phone. 14 missed calls and 33 text messages from Daniel, why is he so needy? I dial his number and call him
Daniel: Alexis?
Me: What do you want? Calling me 14 times what the fuck
Daniel: We need to talk! Immediately! I need to talk to you
Me: No!
Daniel: Alexis plea-
Me: ABOUT WHAT!
Daniel: Andre! The police came over last night
Me: THEY WHAT! WHY!
I shoot out of bed
Daniel: We need to meet 1hr at Groves park
Me: Alright

It's about 2 o'clock now and I walk towards Groves park. I sit on a bench next to Daniel pretending like we don't know each other.
Daniel: Police came over and searched my house
Me: What! Why?
Daniel: I think someone tipped them off
Me: Did they find anything?
Daniel: No! Once I came back I got rid of everything that connected me to Andre
Me: Fuck! Ahh Where's Connor when we need him, he'll know what to do
Daniel: Back with Connor now
He said while slowly turning to face me
Me: No! We're with just working together
Daniel: I bet he's ecstatic about that
Me: Not like that
Daniel: You sure?

A familiar car pulls over across the road from us and it just stays there for a bit. The windows are tinted so we can see through it. I face Daniel who is as confused as I am. Out walks Junior wearing shades. My heart started pounding so hard. The last time I saw him was when Simon stabbed him and left him on the floor to die. Although, I helped him... Sort of, I couldn't help but think, does he hate me? Is he here for revenge? I turn to Daniel who is just fixated on Junior
Me: What is happening right now?
Daniel: He must of heard we were meeting
Daniel gets up and walks towards Junior
Me: Heard? Wtf we're just meeting up!
Junior: Alexis
He says while gesturing his hand. Junior looks good, I mean he has no scars, he looks healthy, he doesn't even seem angry.
Junior: Aren't you going to greet me?
I'm frozen, I can't speak, I feel like he's going to pull out a gun any minute and shoot me
Junior: I'm not here to hurt you Lexi. I'm not angry at what you did
Me: What I did? I fucking saved your life! That's what I did
Junior: Alright but you still left me there
Me: I had to! You called Andre, you set us up!
At this point my blood is boiling and I'm standing arms length away from him
Junior: I didn't set you up! I was getting myself out of a sticky situation
Me: By snaking me!?
Junior: I didn't want to get you in trouble okay! I wanted to get Simon. If you didn't notice I kinda hate his guts
Me: Why?
Junior: He fucking took my boss' daughter and fucking stabbed me
Me: HE DIDN'T.... He didn't take me alright I left, I tricked him, I got him into this mess. He stabbed you for self defence get over it
Junior: Right and if he was a loyal employee he would have taken you back
Me: Shut up Junior! I'm happy he didn't then we wouldn't have fallen in love
Junior: In love?
Me: Correct
Junior: What about Connor?
Me: What about him?
Junior: Weren't you guys-?
Me: -No
Daniel: Guys we don't have time for this
Junior: That's right, get in my car
Me: Wait what! Why?
Junior: We can't stay here talking to each other
Me: I'm not going any where with you
Junior: What the-
Daniel: Let's just have the meeting here now shut up
We stayed at the park for about an hour talking about the plan. I have to go to the warehouse today and Junior goes to the safe house with Daniel.

Junior: Are you sure you're fine going to the warehouse alone?
Junior says pulling up the warehouse
Me: Yes I'm fine I don't always need protection
Junior: I know but if something happens to you my ass is on the line
Me: Ahh man up
Daniel: There should be a black bag in one of the corners of the room! Find that
Junior: Ohh and one more thing
He says while looking back at me from the drivers seat
Junior: I'll be back in an hour, keep your phone on and use this flashlight.
Me: K
I leave the car and head towards the door. Fuck! The warehouse is located in such a hidden place. Even if I scream no one could hear me. I turn the knob and the door screeches open
Me: Hello?
What am I doing? Is this a fucking horror movie? I'm setting myself up! But I gotta do this for Andre!
The room is pitch black, I check my phone and there's no signal, I then turn the flash light on and scan the room
Me: Okay, black bag.... Corners of the room
I mumble to myself
It's been about a good 40 minutes and I still haven't found the stupid bag! Just a bunch of empty boxes.
Me: Where the fuck is it!
I kick one of the boxes in frustration
???: Ooo angry one you are
I pause! Frightened for dear life! Who is that? Am I being set up! I'm going to die aren't I. I couldn't control my tears, they started flowing. I hesitantly turn my flash on and face it towards the door. I see a dark figure standing there, hands on their hips staring at me.
???: Clearly you've forgotten me
The figure moves closer and I can just about make out the face
Me: M-Moanna?
Moanna: Well hello princess
