"How the fuck do you just let someone do this to themselves?" Alex pushed a guy against the wall

Nicky tried standing up but fell over in the process

"She just showed up here and she's mostly just drunk"

"Mostly?"

Alex was so furious at this guy she didn't even know

"Vause...he didn't do anything. He's nice enough to let me stay here" Nicky sounded disgusting. Her voice didn't sound like the usual Nicky

"What?" Alex snapped

"This is Jarred. He's letting me stay here while my folks are in Florida"

"I still don't see why you don't stay with me" Alex loosened her grip on the guy and turned to her high friend

"Your mom can't afford me"

"But this place can?"

"I'm making my own here"

"Are you still gonna go to school?"

"I'm not making any plans Vause"

"What about food or money?"

"We have a system going on"

"What kind of system?"

"Look Vause, I can see your concern but I'm actually very happy here"

"Yeah.."

"What the hell Nichols? I'm fucking freaking out over you and you don't even care"

"I never asked you to come here"

"Because I had to fucking find the address when I was going through the rest of your shit!"

"Why? Because your shit mom left? I thought you were better than that Nichols"

Alex ran her fingers through her hair in frustration

"I'm not gonna let you do this Nicky"

"I think you should just go Alex"

Alex looked at the guy who was terrified, against the wall, and then back at Nicky

She shook her head and left the room, frustrated

"She used to be your friend?" The guy chuckled, sitting back down

"Hey, she's still my friend, okay? Don't talk about shit you don't know about" Nicky lit a cigarette

Piper was running her fingerrs through Alex's soft, black hair

"I just don't get why she would fuck everything up like this" Alex vented

Alex had her head on Piper's lap and Piper was sitting on the floor of her room

"Maybe she just needs time" Piper suggested

"Time is what brings opportunity and that only brings more drugs"

"Okay well then maybe you should show her pictures of you from the 6th grade and she will remember how happy she used to be with drugs" Piper said

Alex sat up and gave Piper an "off" look

"I'm sorry, I'm not good with these kinds of things" Piper apologized
