A new home, a new life, a new job,a fresh new start for me, he thought as he got into the loft. It wasn't as big as the others in new york but it was a start and he wanted to move up the food chain on his own. In his previous line of work he earned a lot of money but he didn't want to start with any of that. He wanted something new.
He lifted a box that felt light in his hands and carried it to his room so as to set up the little things he owned. He wasn't a sentimental guy. He never liked to get to attached to anything. To him it was a sign of weakness. But him like any other guy always had a girl in mind. A special girl whom he'd treat as his queen.
He tried to sleep but he couldn't. Rider decided to go out. Getting out of bed he wore black jeans over his boxer briefs. A white shirt over his toned chest. Taking his jacket and keys he got out of his house.
Rider really wanted to go bust a joint in some shitty club but decided against it because it was two in the morning. He was changing to be a new man. Letting out a sigh, his breath fanning in the air, he decided to go to the park. He walked down fifth avenue causally his hands in his pocket.
The night was chilly but he shrugged it off as he sat on the bench. God it feels great being free. He said to himself and chuckled lightly into the night. Enjoying the calm feeling of the night he leaned back on the park bench. His attention got distracted and he turned his head to her direction. She was wearing a tight black dress that reached her mid thighs, she was holding her heels in one hand with her golden purse and her phone in the other hand. She seemed a bit tipsy in her walk. She came and sat down next to him.
"what's a girl like you doing out at a time like this?"
"Wouldn't you like to know," she slurred out.
"apparently I do," Rider smirked at her. "And why torment such a," hic! " poor soul as yours with my troubles." "That's where you're wrong Calita, I ain't a poor soul I'm actually the dream keeper in disguise of a really hot guy."
She started out with a chuckles but ended up laughing at his charming boyish self. "You're funny," she managed to say. "A comment only pretty ladies can pull off with me," he sneaked a wink at her and she blushed at the comment. "How many have said that to you?" She asks shyly.
"All I see is just one and she's got a killer smile. I'm guessing I'm sending good dreams then."
She laughed so hard that she snorted. She held her hands over her mouth and Rider couldn't help but laugh. "It's okay, I don't mind a girl who snorts. Means she's tough." He took her hands from he mouth, "don't hide that pretty smile." The color came back to her cheeks and she relaxed. She leaned into into the bench and freed her hair from its ponytail and it waved down in thick chestnut locks down her shoulders.
They stayed in a calming silence before she broke it off, "I was getting away from a stupid party my now ex boyfriend was throwing." She turned to him, "you asked me why I'm here, that's why."
"Ah! The ex train. We've all been there but trust me it gets easier mainly if there's a dream keeper who will watch over you and beat up your ex."
"Now that's a guy I wouldn't mind seeing everyday." She let out a sigh, "he's just so damn persistent. I told Don it was over but his fucked up brain can't handle that." He didn't say anything he just let her ramble since he thought she looked cute doing so. He let her get it all out. "I used to think he was cool with all the bad boy swagger but he's just an asshole. I can't believe I ever thought I loved him." She sighs in frustration before looking up and seeing him openly staring at her. She blushed and looked down and started fidgeting with her fingers. "And I'm rambling again. God! I didn't mean to burden you with all my troubles. You're just a guy trying to find his cool and clear his mind. But I'm ruining it for you by rambling like a maniac..."
