“STOP THE CAR!” I screamed. The driver immediately hit the brakes, making everyone bump forward. As soon as I felt the car come to a complete stop, I opened the door and ran outside. I could hear the boy’s confused voices screaming my name from the vehicle, but I blocked them away.

I quickened my pace to the girl who was now screaming a name to the empty streets.

“Lucy!” I could hear her yelling as I got closer. At first, she didn’t notice me. She was completely focused on the empty street in front of her.

“You alright?” I asked suddenly. She didn’t turn around. I walked closer to her, my feet making a splashing sound as I stepped into a puddle.

She jumped at the sound, turning around.

I couldn’t help but notice how beautiful she was. She was a little bit smaller in height than me, she had light brown hair that draped down to her waist in a beautiful wave, her bright blue eyes were watery, but you could see how clear and beautiful they were. Her small nose shaped her face completely, enhancing her small pink lips and pink cheeks.

She stopped crying then, staring at me confused.

“Are you okay?” I asked.

“No.” She responded, another tear falling down her face. I wanted to reach over and remove it, but that would be too bold.

“Why are you crying?”

“My-my Lucy is lost.” She stuttered.

“Is Lucy your sister?”

“No. My golden retriever.” Her pinks turned pink then. She probably felt embarrassed that she was crying over a dog, but in reality, I thought it was sweet.

“I can help you find her.” I offered. She looked at me in disbelief probably wondering what I was doing, or thinking I was crazy.

“Yeah… yeah okay.” She finally managed. I smiled at her.

“Zayn!” Louis called behind me. I turned around to stare at him. “We have to go.”

“She lost her dog. I’m gonna help her find her.” I told him. He looked surprised at first but then his face turned into a smile.

“Well then, let’s tell the others to help out. The more people the merrier.” He exclaimed.

I smiled.

It was amazing how understanding my friends were. I knew I could always count on them.

Soon after, the boys came over asking questions as to what they needed to do.

I looked over at the girl, who’s face looked more relieved.

“I forgot to ask your name.” I said.

“I’m Ellie.” She responded. I smiled. Ellie was a beautiful name.

“Well Ellie, I’m Zayn, this is Harry, Naill, Louis and Liam.” The boys waved at her. She smiled in response. I was taken aback for a second. Her smile made my heart stop a beat. It was a strange feeling, but a good one at that.

She stood there awkwardly, not knowing what to say next. To break the silence, I asked her details about her dog Lucy just to get as much information as possible to be able to recognize her easier and immediately everyone ran separate ways looking for her dog. I stayed with Ellie because I didn’t have the heart to leave her alone. And to be honest, I really wanted to spend time with her.

We walked, jogged and ran as much as we possibly could. Sometimes we would have to hide from incoming girls that were approaching our event. We were already late for the concert and people were waiting. I didn’t want to leave the girl alone but her dog was nowhere in sight. I think she quickly realized this, for she suddenly started crying again except this time, the tears fell silently down her face. Once again, I struggled with the desire to reach over and wipe them off her face. Instead I took her shoulders and pushed her into me for an embrace.
