I trudged through the halls of school, dragging my feet along the floor. I grabbed my phone from my back pocket. I rolled my eyes at the time. It was 8 o'clock, 8 freaking o'clock. I had to be here this early because my damn bus left my stop at 7:30 every morning and being one of "The best schools in California" lessons began at 8:30 instead of 9:00. God why is life so hard?

Let me just put one thing straight. I am NOT a morning person. If I could, I would be get on the bus whilst wearing pjamas and my duvet wrap around me but, I'm not sure that would go down well with other students.

I eventually reached my locker at the end of the hall and checked my timetable. I knew exactly what subject I had first. Games. God damn it. I hate games. Honestly I don't know why they make kids like me do an activity that's so physically demanding. I mean, I can barely walk up a set of stairs without getting out of breath let alone play a full hour of volley ball.

"Brooke!" I heard Jess call. I turned around to face her.

"Hey," I greeted her with a smile.

"So, I'm going out tonight and I don't know which one of these I should wear." Jess said while she unlocked her phone to show me two pictures of two dresses.

The first dress was scarlet red. It was tight fitting around the top but more flowing towards the bottom and ended just below the knee. It was strapless and was made from a polyester type of material and had a small flower on the left hip.

The second dress was a hunter green coloured dress. It was made out of a flowing chiffon material and ended slightly above the knee. It only had one strap which was a thicker type of strap. The top of the dress was tight and had neat creases in it. It also had a sash like belt around the waist.

I studied the dresses analysing each feature. I noticed Jess glaring at me with impatience. Eventually I gave in.

"Umm...I think you should wear what ever dress you think is best."

Jess rolled her eyes before giggling slightly and stating "I knew I shouldn't have asked you for fashion advice."

Suddenly the bell went off. The bell was such a boring sound. It was loud and repetitive and extremely sickening.

I waved off Jess as she made her way down the hall. It was a shame that Jess and I aren't in the same class for anything. Jess was quite a character in school. Most of her teachers avoided her as her sass can out do pretty much anyone. I, on the other hand, am considered as a spof or a geek. I wouldn't class my self as those types of people but I do try hard in school. You never know when you're gonna need your grades to back you up.

I made my way to the changing rooms for games. I sat in the corner and got changed quickly before heading into the hall. Everyone was already stretching and warming up so I joined in. Then the whole room went quiet. In came Leah James. The most popular, prettiest and probably the meanest girl in the whole school, accompanied by her two side-chicks Bethany Lemers and Carly Reathers. These 3 girls were another reason I hated games.

Leah James.... I don't know whether I was supposed to hate or admire her. She was literally the most gorgeous female to walk on the earth EVER! Her hair is so long and flowing and her eyes practically sparkle.
