The snow fell softly on the back roads of a small town called Rosenstone. A young girl about the age of 17 She stood there shaking with a novel clutched tightly in her cold dainty hands. Her long curly brunette hair spilling over her shoulders as her olive green eyes skimmed over the crisp pages under her long dark lashes. Soon the bus came to a rolling halt in front of her with a loud squeal and hiss. The beautiful girl didn't look away from her book as she climbed on the bus and took the first open seat.
She didn't mind where she sat as long she could be by a window to keep reading the pages in front of her. Those sweet black lines on a page that would never falter for her. In her mind, those words were always filled with an adventure too good to pull away from.
As the bus stopped at the high school she had finished the final page of her novel triumphantly. She shut it with much satisfaction and she quickly stepped off the bus. Her first course of action was set to return her book to the library. She was headed to the front doors of the newly remodeled high school, when she heard a voice calling her name from the parking lot. She knew the boys voice immediately, was filled with much annoyance, but kept walking towards the glass doors.
Her name was once again called followed by loud foot steps that got closer. She held her book close to her chest almost like her own little shield. Finally the person caught up to her and started to walk next to her. "Belle! I've been calling you didn't you hear me?" Asked the schools number one football player, Gavin Tomms, with a playful, but obviously irritated, smirk
Gavin was tall, naturally tan, well groomed black hair, cornflower blue eyes, and was obnoxiously rich. His family was well respected, loved by everyone, at every local charity event, and were painted as the best. Gavin oozed with charm out of every axe body spray scented pore. His smile would melt butter and a wink sent girls to the ER if unprepared. He was male model perfect in everyway, the Olympian star athlete with girls lining down the halls to peek in his gym classes. Even with that devilishly handsome smile, Belle knew the truth.
She knew too much about him, because Gavin was her ex boyfriend.
Now why break up with the hottest guy in the class? Well it was due to the fact he was more in love with himself and his popularity with everyone else on the outside. But under the surface, Belle discovered that Gavin was an obsessive creep and she told herself she wasn't going through that mess again even if her parents loved him so much.
Belle was the daughter of a very intelligent lawyer mother and a very smart inventive father from France. But when it came to Gavin it was like they lost their minds. They loved Gavin and would always talk about the future wedding plans for them both. So many people considered the match between her and Gavin a good business move between families, but the most common respond was "They will have my most beautiful children!" And Belles most common response to that was shivers of dread.
Belle seemed like she was stuck in between a rock and a hard place as she would quote from her stories. She felt at first like she could never break away from Gavin and his families grasp. The encouragement of famous heroes from her books finally gave her the courage to not live such a planned out life. She wanted adventure, excitement, the thrill of learning new things, and seeing new places. As soon as she graduated school she wanted to see the world, she would leave Rosenstone, go wherever she wanted, and learn as many things as she could.
For now, she was stuck in between that rock and hard place as Gavin walked eagerly along side her, not having trouble keeping pace with her.
"What do you want Gavin?" Belle asked flatly as she looked straight ahead, extending a hand to one of the door handles. Gavin cut her off, and opened the door for her instead, smiling ear to ear. She quickly muttered a thank you, and kept thinking about her quest for the library after passing through the door.
