Hey, I'm Ruth. I've been homeschooled my whole life and I've never had any real friends.

Such a sob story, huh?

That's how my family feels.

She's so lonely

But I'm not so vulnerable

Nobody's ever threatened me so it may seem that way.

My mum worries the most.

She was this close to not letting me go to a public college.

But my sister persuaded her to let me

You may think that to talk to people I write things down on paper.

I don't communicate at all.

Now that's a choice.

Trust me, if I want to I could nod my head to 'Would you like Spaghetti for dinner?'

But the only thing that's not a choice is the speech thing.

But I'm good with handling it. I don't cry about it. I'm never depressed about it. I've been mute my whole life.

I have yet to say my first word.

My mom's never understood me at all.

She'd try and read me but she'd always get it wrong.

I don't know why anyone even tries anymore.
