[•••]

For going out yesterday and hanging up on my mother, she made me recite math formulas from the top of my head for what seemed like forever.

If I got one wrong we had to start all over and of course my dad approved, even if he wasn't there because as he always said A Great Mind Leads To Great Things.

I didn't get to sleep until probably 4a.m and now it was 6:30, up bright and early to make my parents breakfast and get to school.

Sebastian still hadn't called or texted which made me resent him a little bit more.

Plopping my father's eggs onto his plate I added a dash of salt just how he liked it.

My dad was a Lawyer he worked for Daven Attorney and Law the biggest firm on the west coast. That's why I barely saw him we mostly only communicated over calls or facetime.

Entering the kitchen my mom picked up her coffee.

"Oh your father isn't here, he's been at the firm all night," she informed me before taking her plate of food and entering her at home office.

Now my mother on the other hand was a sales manager for many companies but her latest tackle was Apple.

Sighing I took my father's plate and tossed it.

"Mom have you seen my blue jacket?" I questioned but she didn't respond because her door was closed and once it is she's gone to the world.

Sighing once again I grabbed my toast and popped it onto a plate before spreading a thin layer of jelly on them both.

Taking a bite I quickly zoomed up the steps towards my room to see if my jacket was there.

Walking past Dayna's room I couldn't help but notice it was cracked open. Meaning mother came in which isn't a good idea.

Closing her door I held on to the knob as if letting it go would shatter the whole thing.

Dayna was my elder sister who was everything I'm not. Dayna was a beautiful soul and everything came so effortlessly to her. She had a full ride to Harvard University and she could do ballet so gracefully as if she created the dance herself. Her voice could heal any wound the way she sung and her eyes could light up the world if she let them.

But Dayna was gone now. That's why I have to be everything she was, if not better because I have to make my parents proud. They want the perfect daughter and I'll give it to them.

My phone buzzed loudly in my pocket signaling that I had 10 minutes to get to school.

Releasing the door knob I quickly dodged into my room grabbing my jacket and I was out the house in 3 seconds and at school in 2.

The library was oddly packed today as I took my regular seat near the window over seeing the volley ball court.

I like to sit here and watch the team play sometimes because it seemed so interesting.

Pulling out my many books and utensils from my back pack I laid them out nicely on the table like I did everyday.

"Need any company?" I was scared half to death by a familiar face, one I could never forget.

"Trevor?" I questioned with a smile. "What are you doing here?"

Sitting down beside me he returned the smile with a grin.
