Allie's POV

I was never one to be seen. My high school is pretty small, each grade containing under 90 students. It was an internationally school which meant everyone was coming and going. I came in freshmen year hoping to just blend into the crowd. Which successfully worked to my advantage or so I thought.

It's been already a quarter into sophomore year and I have been drowning in my own responsibilities. Having all advance classes, swim practice, and trying to obtain a social life caused a never ending cycle of sleep deprivation. If I wasn't for art at the end of the day I would never have some time to myself. On an average day I would just sit down at my seat, put on my headphones and just spend my time rocking out and drawing. No one really disturbed me and I liked it that way. Plus it didn't really hurt that the entire class was filled with fit upperclassmen. The only issue was that I was way too weird, awkward, and invisible for any guy to notice me the way I notice them.

It's the morning and my sisters alarm echoes throughout the house causing me to abruptly wake up. As I get out of bed I trip over a shoe and hit my cheek on the edge of my nightstand. The impact caused a small cut and some bruising on my left cheek. Just great my clumsy ass always starting my day in the worst way. I rush to the bathroom to clean up my wound and get ready for the day. I grab my backpack and textbooks as my close friend and ride Nate calls me saying he's been waiting outside for the past 5 minutes. I rush out the door and frantically enter the car expecting to see the everyday faces of Nate and my best friend Amanda. Only that this time there is one more person in the car. Oliver Stevens one of the most popular guys at our school. Great first I fuck up my face and now I'm embarrassing myself in front of the most popular guy at school.

"Finally! We've been here for hours waiting for your late ass!" Amanda yells as I roll my eyes and look out the window.

"By the way Allie this is Oliver. His car is in the shop so since we're neighbors and all I decided to offer to drive him to and from school for the next week or so." Nate mentions. I don't want to embarrass myself any further by talking to I just nodded, smiled, and went back to looking out the window.

Most of the ride was silent until I felt someone staring at me. I glace over to meet Oliver's gaze giving me a window of time to look at his eyes. They were a pale greenish blue with specks of gold. His words are what interrupt my gaze.

"I'm sorry for asking but what happened to your cheek?" he asks causing Amber to shoot back her head to see what he was talking about.

"OH MY GOD ALLIE WHAT DID YOU DO TO YOURSELF" she yells at the top of her lungs.

"I umm kind of fell and my face might have fallen on the corner of my nightstand. But I'm fine I don't think it's that bad." I answers stumbling on my words.

Oliver raises his hand cupping my cheek as he rubbed his thumb gentle around the cut inspecting it. Once he looked at it for what seem like ages he finally let go of my cheek and insisted on taking me to the nurse once we get to school just in case.

We reach the school and as we all pile out of the car. As I am about to get my textbooks Oliver swoops in and grabs them along with his own things and starts walking towards the building. I lightly jog over to him thinking he got confused and took my books by accident.

"Wait!" I yell. "You have my textbooks!" He stops walking and wait for me to catch up to him.

"Yeah that's the point I just wanted to help you with your stuff as I walk you to the nurse." He says in the dreamiest way possible.

"You don't have to walk me there. I think I can get there on my own." I say shyly. He shrugs off my suggestion saying he needed to be there as an assistant anyways.

We walk into the nurses' office only to see that she is nowhere to be seen. Oliver asks me to sit down and that he'll just have to check it out himself since the nurse is rarely here at this time in the morning. I sit as he pulls out some tools and begins to disinfect my cut and then cover it up with a small Band-Aid. Once he's done he begins to play with a strand of my loose hair that was covering my face causing me to smile at the ground. He then traces the outline of my jaw with his index finger until he reaches under chin lifting my head up so I am able to look him in the eyes.

"You look so effortlessly beautiful when you smile." He says. "It's a shame you don't do it as often as you should." He tells me as I get up and try to grab my things to go to class. It was cute what he did. The issue was that I didn't believe it. I couldn't believe it because it was him. Why would anyone like him even think about someone like me? Someone of such little importance.
