OK I'm pretty sure it was obvious this book was going to end up here. I mean how could it not.
Although the premise of the magic is not unheard of, Kim made it seem so original. So amazing. The magic system in this book is that some humans are born with a ability (telekinesis, pyromancy, teleportation, ect). The reason of which is a past event which the stars sent down their children to protect the humans from Shadows caused by the stars. The stars children abilities went on to other generations of humans. Later on in the story a new element in introduced into the magic system but I'm not going to tell you what it is.
The story is beautifully written and weaven. Every character past is vital to the story and all characters future are entertwined. In this book you really don't want to miss anything, because it seems any information could be important. The characters are given realistic and dynamic personalities. Every character has flaws. Marina is hard headed and stubborn. Soren is fighting a inner struggle with his morals and what path he wants to head down. And many other characters.
The story is told from three perspectives, Marina, Adria, and Soren. The perspective changes do not feel clunky or forced like many do. They feel natural and right. The inner thoughts of each character are notably different and this only adds to their realism.
Over all Kim did a great job and made a amazing well thought out story. I consider it one of the best ever on wattpad and that is why it's now in the hall.
