Remember me when I am gone away,
Gone far away into the silent land;
A boy, with spiky blue hair and a pair of green eyes. The memory involved him staring ahead, staring at what seemed like the horizon from a balcony. He had a great, wide smile, his eyes sparkling from the view in front of him.
When you can no more hold me by the hand,
Nor I half turn to go, yet turning stay.
A boy who held your hand, in times of fear and darkness. He himself was a man who grew up in the dark. He had control over the dark. And he was willing to make it leave if it meant wiping your fear away.
Remember me when no more day by day
You tell me of our future that you plann'd:
Seeing his face, you remember certain words. Runt. Idiot. Knight.
Prince.
He had the looks of a prince, but he wore a uniform of a knight. It was confusing, as to how that happened...
Only remember me; you understand
It will be late to counsel then or pray.
"Chill down, princess. You're busy, right ? Get your breathing pattern back."
Yet if you should forget me for a while
And afterwards remember, do not grieve:
"I love you, too."
"Save yourself, damn it."
"I love you."
"You were greater than what I deserved. And for that, I thank you."
For if the darkness and corruption leave
A vestige of the thoughts that once I had,
You were covered in darkness. And as soon as you took a step, it left, and you were in a room... Your room.
Better by far you should forget and smile
Than that you should remember and be sad.
You held a ring, one that had the features of a labrynith in it. But as the whole thing turned solid black, you were filled with horror and dread.
...Why ?
---------
She walks in beauty, like the night
Of cloudless climes and starry skies;
No one gave a fuck if it was night or day. He saw a princess in blue, staring down at a weird-looking crib. It had hanging stars, with his mother language carved in it. It translated as his name.
...Blackstar.
And all that's best of dark and bright
Meet in her aspect and her eyes;
He grew up in the shadow of his brother, Kid. Grew up always seen as the second prince, the one that doesn't matter because there was already a heir to the throne.
He hated the darkness. He hated his power.
Thus mellowed to that tender light
Which heaven to gaudy day denies.
But her eyes, oh, they were dark when they first met. Her eyes were filled in such remorse and anger. She stared at him with a glint of glare. The room was dark, and it set a depressing mood.
He loved that dark.
One shade the more, one ray the less,
Had half impaired the nameless grace
"You're an idiot."
Funny how these words were the only ones he remember. But he ignored the mere insult. He was busy listening to her voice. She didn't say his name, and it pissed him off. He wanted her to say his name.
Which waves in every raven tress,
Or softly lightens o'er her face;
"All one man..."
At a mental count of three, tears sprang from her eyes. The room was filled with blue things, and it also had the crib he saw earlier. But that didn't matter. All he noticed was how beautiful the princess was, in tears or not.
Where thoughts serenely sweet express,
How pure, how dear their dwelling-place.
It was raining. Yet again, no one cared. They were playing a stupid game of tag on a tower's rooftop. A castle's rooftop. Her laughter was melody to his ears.
And on that cheek, and o'er that brow,
So soft, so calm, yet eloquent,
"...But my curse---"
"I know."
He could see the fear in her eyes. He hated it. Seeing it, he only focused on eliminating what was making her scared. He wanted his cheerful princess back...
The smiles that win, the tints that glow,
But tell of days in goodness spent,
"Don't you dare die on me." Her voice cooed to his ear.
But his vision was blurry. And that didn't help. He wanted to see her face. He was dying, he can feel his heart freezing slowly, and the only thing that can help him stay awake is her.
A mind at peace with all below,
A heart whose love is innocent!
"I love you, Blackstar, don't do this to me !"
...Do what ?
"Blackstar---"
Why was her voice filled with fear ? Again ?
...The princess was swallowed into shadows, and was absorbed to nothing. His sight was too blurry to see if she was crying, but she was surely struggling...
It was his turn to feel dread.
What did he do to her ?
