Chapter 1

(Narrator)

*BEEP BEEP BEEP*

"It's time to get up mija, you'll be late for your first day of school."

"Just 5 more minutes dad." groans Lauren loudly.

"Ayyy mija, I'll get your mom to wake you up..." Mike threatens.

"OKAY OKAY I'm up."

Lauren slowly gathers herself and makes her way to her bathroom, starting her morning routine. It was Lauren's first day of junior year after traveling the world with her army family and finally settling back down in Miami her freshman year. She didn't have that many friends due to her constantly migrating but she did have two best friends, Shawn and Austin. Their love for music brought them together when they were young, before Lauren had to keep leaving.

After getting ready, Lauren makes her way down to the kitchen where her two siblings, Chris and Taylor were already settled.

"Hurry up and eat your breakfast Lo, aren't Shawn and Austin picking you up?" Clara scolded.

"Yeah mom, I'm actually not that hungry, I'll just wait till lunch."

*HONK HONK*

"Saved by the honk, go on. Have fun at school sweetheart." as she smiles sweetly.

Lauren makes her way to Shawn's Honda, finding the two jamming out to Eminem.

"Is this supposed to get you all the girls?" Lauren teases as she gets in the backseat of Shawn's car.

"Hey hey, we already do get all the girls.. and you don't count because you play for the other team." Austin shoots back.

Lauren laughs at her friend's remark. Though Austin and Shawn knew about her sexuality, her family didn't. Lauren was born into a very religious and "perfect" family. In her perfect family, she was the perfect child with the perfect grades and the perfect personality. Coming out to them would be like declaring World War III which was something Lauren was just not ready for.

"I hope you don't mind coming pretty early Lo, Vince says he has someone to introduce to us."
Shawn informs Lauren as the trio gets out of Shawn's car.

"No not at all.. Did he say who?"

"Well apparently Austin and I have already met her, like back in elementary school. He says she's family and-"

Lauren's focus was interrupted by the most captivating brown eyes she had ever seen. She had always thought brown eyes were underrated and these specific pair proved it. She then realized these gorgeous brown eyes also belonged to a gorgeous brunette that she had never seen before.. not that that was hard to do considering she just moved back to Miami for high school after 6 years. Lauren was caught completely off guard when the captivating brunette made eye contact with her.

HOLY SHIT HOLY SHIT SHES COMING THIS WAY. WHAT THE HELL DO I DO? I DONT KNOW HER RIGHT? I mean there's no way.. I wouldn't forget a face like that. Oh god Lauren please don't say anything to embarrass yourself.

"-LAUREN." Shawn basically yells to get my attention.

"-uhh, um, OH shit you were calling me."
