Outside, it wasn't exactly the best. The outside world of Queen's town wasn't a walk in the park. You had all these strange people, but wasn't it truthful that everyone was strange in their own way?
A mage by the name of Mary Mudfoot, looked out the small window she had built in her tower. She watched the townsfolk go on their way, completely unaware that something terrible was going to happen, and that only one man could stop it. That being said, she started to doubt her words. she knew that this man was either one, a crazy old wizard, or two, a completely unaware person who thinks that life is simple in Queen's town. Well, she'll be the first to tell you that it isn't. The crops are dying due to lack of water, the animals are starving due to the lack of the crops and the people are dying due to the lack of food! Its just a big never ending mess. The leader says that it will all be fine, but Mary personally doubted that theory. Everyone knows that the leader has a good supply of resources in that mansion of his to keep him sane and alive for a good 4 or 5 years, or even longer. Mary sighed and looked over at her pet dog, Trinket, before smiling and bending down to pet him.
"Trinket, I'll be going soon." Mary frowned when she heard him whine.
"I know you want me to stay, but I've got a duty to do." With that said, she gathered a bottle of water, a loath of bread, an apple, a map and a lantern.
"Don't worry boy. I'll be back before you know it." Mary gave a reassuring smile before walking down the stairs of her tower and through the door.
'I hope I know what I'm doing..' Mary thought to herself.
'Because there's no turning back now.'
